A little round pot of joy - that is what I call this cute little product from FACES cosmetics. This is the Ultime Pro Mineral Loose Powder.

The packaging is cute, a black pot with a silver screw lid. The lid  houses the powder puff inside. The base is nice and flat so that the pot can stand upright without toppling over.

The packaging is very travel friendly.

Price: Rs 699 (7gm) available online HERE

The powder has a very faint fragrance that is not noticeable within seconds of application.

Texture of the powder is extremely fine and smooth.

In order to use the powder, I jiggle the pot with the lid closed. This allows the powder to come out without wasting any of it and I can easily puff it all over my face using the applicator inside.

The powder is said to give protection from the sun. It does impart an even look to the face. It applies silky smooth. The coverage is light to medium.

I use a concealer on my spots and apply this for a day-to-day light coverage that leaves the skin looking fresh.

I have two colors swatched below for you. Sand Beige and Honey Beige. Both colors are very close to each other but honey beige is more warmer in tone and matches my skin better. (If you remember in my review for the GlamOn Foundations the shade Sand matched my skin tone better)

The powder doesn't dry out the skin but if you have naturally dry skin then do use a light moisturizer underneath.

I prefer to use a toner before applying this loose powder because some parts of my skin can get dry and I can't moisturize them in summers else those same areas become oily (yeah, I know weird skin!)

Do you use loose powders or do you prefer compacts?

  3. I think I prefer pressed powder products in general, just because I find I make SUCH a mess with anything loose!

  6. I think I prefer loose powder for at home use, but compacts when traveling, for sure.

  9. I typically used compacts over loose powder. In fact, I can't even remember the last time I used a loose powder. I'm too afraid of spilling them all over myself :)

  10. That packaging is so unique, I love it! I would say that my number one type of foundation to wear is liquid. But I love setting with a loose powder. If I wear just powder foundation in a day, I tend to prefer to work with a pressed compact. But this one looks fantastic!
