Ananda in the Himalayas is a very well known spa retreat. Known for its amazing spa therapies (and expensive price packages) Ananda Spa spells luxury. I really hope I can spend a week there (ok, maybe a weekend!) but until then here is a review of their products that now bring that magic of the Himalayas to your door step.
I am sharing a review of their Grounding Body Oil as well as the Grounding Body Scrub (bath salt).

Boxed in simple earthy packaging with a red motif both the oil and body scrub have similar looking packaging. The body oil comes in a long plastic bottle with a screw cap while the body scrub (bath salt) comes in a tub with a screw cap.

Ananda Spa Grounding Body Oil & Grounding Body Scrub/Bath Salt Review, Price |
Ananda Spa Grounding Body Oil is a blend of pure essential oils of rose, sandalwood, and vetiver. These oils are known for their properties of providing tranquillity and sensuality. They are mixed in a base of nourishing wheat germ and sunflower oil. These oils provide natural supplies of Vitamins A, D, and E, as well Vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, F. These oils are also rich in proteins, minerals and essential fatty Acids making them power packed with anti-oxidant properties.
It is yellow in color and has a lovely fragrance that is immediately relaxing for the senses. It is not sweet so people who dislike floral fragrances should find this a refreshing change from the regular rose scented oils. The fragrance does not linger on too long and is quite faint, another point a lot of people would actually like.

Ananda Spa Grounding Body Oil & Grounding Body Scrub/Bath Salt Review, Price |
The Ananda Grounding Body Scrub (bath salt) is white in color and looks like salt. But this is infused with sandalwood, rose and vetiver pure essential oils making it smell just as amazing as the grounding oil. The fragrance of the bath salt is slightly stronger than that of the oil.
The scrub granules are very fine and easily scrub away dead skin cells without being harsh to the skin. Regularly scrubbing your skin with a good bath salt helps improve blood circulation resulting in fresh and healthy looking skin.
Price: Rs 854 (100gms) [available at myenvybox.com]
The best way to use this body scrub is to mix it with some grounding oil and scrubbing it all over your skin and then taking a warm shower. Mixed together the grounding oil and scrub provide a great body polish while the enhanced fragrance now really relaxes your senses.
Both the Grounding Oil and the Grounding Body Scrub can be used individually as well. You can massage the oil all over your body before taking a shower and also use it post pedicure on your heels. You can mix the bath salts with rose water, milk or lime juice to create your own body scrub. But it works best with the grounding oil with the two working in sync to provide the benefits of the essential oils.
In winters you can use the oil+salt scrub routine as a post shower ritual simply washing off with warm water afterwards. This ensures that a bit of the oil still remains on your skin keeping it soft and supple through the day.
