Recently I had the opportunity to go out for brunch in a nice place nestled somewhere on Janpath (New Delhi) - it was a bit hard to locate because Google refused to show it on the map but if you do go there it's situated close to the Le Meridian hotel on 22, Janpath. Its two floors above the Jaguar showroom.
So after oogling at the stunning Jaguars I headed to the second floor taking the stairs. There is construction going on on the first floor so it might not look too pleasing when you walk up the stairs if you go there in the coming week or so.
But once you reach the restaurant a lovely ambience greets you. Grey walls with books, model cars, lots of mirrors, and pictures of architectural marvel make for a nice colonial feel. I went there on a Sunday so it was nice and quiet (I hate eating food in a very noisy place). The seating is nice and comfy with different sitting options available. I chose to relax on the cushy couch.

The location is perfect for a relaxing brunch with ample light filtering in the large glass window wall that looks out onto the street. There are nice touches of books - I even found one that was like an encyclopedia on Tofu! They have chairs with a back that resembles a helm.

The brunch menu includes Indian alcohol or a mocktail along with 4 dishes of your choice.
So me and my friends began with a round of drinks. I had a very refreshing drink (recommended by the bartender) called the Designated Driver (its not on their menu!). It had fresh orange and mint in a base of cranberry and strawberry juice. The mint and cucumber mocktail was also extremely refreshing. Sangria was nice and strong and, the white wine tasted nice too.

The salad bar is near the window. Fresh green salad with many dressings and lots of parmesan cheese. I must mention here that the breads served are very well prepared and taste yummy!!!

The food is all served on flat black stone platters that are quite unique. The starter of chickpea & spinach bitox was served with a dash of sour yogurt dressing. Grilled fish in mustard dressing was served on sticks. All servings were bite sized so it was easy to eat and we could share our dishes around the table.

The egg benedict was perfectly cooked while the Harris cottage cheese brochette was simply delicious. Although it looked like paneer tikka served on sticks, it actually tastes quite different.

Me being the vegetarian in the group ordered my all time favourite mix-veg pizza. The pizza was thin crust and loaded with just the right amount of veggies and mouth watering cheese. The flavours were just right.
Another vegetarian dish that we ordered was the Harrisa cottage cheese steak. This was pan seared cottage cheese served with a dollop of veggies cooked in some sauce served with fresh salad.

Wow really nice and photos are really great to see in this post. It is really good place and i am enjoying with my family. I have order some of items in that restaurant. I am getting more level of experience to enjoy the trip also. I am searching the places in online. Eating foods are getting taste as awesome. My friend is also come with me. She is given some support for ordering the great foods. We are staying one hour and again we go to trip for that places. I am also taken more pictures with my family and friends. It is memorable moment for me. Wonderful place and i am taken more time for seeing the good places. I am sharing those pictures to my friends. More books and chairs are available to that. More people are like to visit into that restaurant.
ReplyDeleteDrinks and foods are very nice and good approach for the visitors. Very good taste and i have tasted the fish recipes also. What is the GST rates applicable for those foods? Cakes, chicken recipes, fishes, drinks etc are getting great color and most of the people to order for taste it. In this post is getting more pictures about that. It is looking amazing and great taste also. More delicious foods are shared to my friends. They are enjoying each and every minutes with me. I am really happy for taken the trip with my family. I cannot forget that moment in my life. Again I will decide to go for the trip to that place. Please given me the list of places are possible and getting great for the trip.
