Whenever I would ask someone about their favourite kajal – pat came the reply – Maybelline Colossal Kajal. I asked questions like would it stay on the waterline, wash it long lasting, and mostly the replies I got were promising. So after a lot of though I finally purchased this little yellow angel.
What the company claims
The company claims that this kajal can stay put without smudging for 6 hours. It is also supposed to contain ingredients that are good for the skin/eyes like vitamin E and C.
The Product
Maybelline Colossal Kajal comes in a yellow retractable pencil form. Very easy to carry, and easy to spot even in a huge pile of products. The kajal stick is soft and smooth in texture. Maybelline Colossal Kajal does not tug your skin on application giving a very neat look.
My Experience
I was super excited to try this kajal. I work on the computer for long hours and have a tendency to rub my eyes invariably. Hence I was really hopeful that this kajal would stand the test which all others had so far failed.
The Maybelline Colossal Kajal was extremely easy to apply. It did not tug on my skin, felt smooth and gave a very clean application. It was not however as pigmented for the waterline. I had to swipe the kajal 3 times on the waterline to get the deep black effect I wanted. On the upper lid I used this as a liner and it fared well.
Now came the test, I went to work and checked on the state of the kajal on my waterline during lunch hours. The waterline had faded. Yes it did, there was no smudging but the waterline did not look as dark as it did in the morning. The upper lash line looked perfect so I was still happy, at least there was no raccoon eyes and no smudging of the upper lid.
By the end of the day the waterline only had a hint of kajal while the liner on the upper lash line was still there – just slightly faded (after 9 hours)
Overall I am glad that I tried this product but I won’t give it a 100% because I want a kajal that can really stay put on my waterline. There are a few more new entrants in the market which I am eyeing next.
