Faces Ultime Pro Gel Waterproof Mascara Review

I think I have been blessed with nice eyelashes and usually don't wear any mascara. The only time I wear mascara is if I am attending a marriage (or some late night function where I want my eyes to look bold n fresh after a days of work!)

So, to cut it short - I look for a mascara that is long wear, smudge proof and gives the eyes some drama. Recently I got the chance to try out a new mascara from the Ultime Pro range launched by Faces Cosmetics.

The first thing that you notice with this mascara is the classy sleek black packaging. The thin cylindrical tube of mascara in jet black with the silver font looks super chic.

The Ultime Pro Gel Waterproof Mascara is claimed to be a 24 hour smudge free gel based mascara.

The mascara comes with a wand that is flexible plastic (not rubbery) and gives decent coverage of the mascara in a single stroke.

The tapered shape of the wand ensures that the tip of the wand is thin enough to provide ease of use in the inner corner of the eyes.

The mascara itself is fragrance free, texture is a thick liquid (not exactly gel like) and is jet black. The mascara comes at Rs 799 for 7.5ml. It is completely waterproof, does not smudge, and dries up really fast. So if you wish to coat your lashes multiple times then do one eye completely before moving on to the second eye. Otherwise by the time you return to the first eye to put on the second coat, it would have dried on your lashes and adding the second coat becomes next to impossible. I use one coat and it adds length to my lashes. I do not see any increase in volume though.

How To Remove Faces Ultime Pro Gel Waterproof Mascara

The mascara does not budge if you use water on it. Removing the mascara is easy if you use either a makeup remover or soap and water. If you use soap and water you will notice that it comes off in bits of gel like material (something similar to peel of face masks) - first time this happened it felt funny but I think this is a huge plus point because this makes the mascara slide off the lashes instead of tugging your lashes.

As you can see in the picture below (left side without mascara) the volume added by the mascara is not a lot.

But if you look at a sideways picture you can surely notice the length added by the mascara - image on the right is with the Faces Ultime Pro Gel Waterproof Mascara

Overall I am very impressed with the mascara for the following reasons - sleek packaging, nice texture, waterproof and long stay, and not to forget the huge difference in length that it adds to the lashes.

I do wish it would add more volume as well and costed a bit less. Since a mascara needs to be thrown out every 6 months and I use it very little it feels quite expensive but this is not targeted like a drugstore brand. It has been launched in the Ultime Pro range which is meant for professional use.
