I am a die hard romantic at heart and believe in love at first sight. This is my little story about a girl named Sanjana and how she found true love.
______________________________________________________________
Sanjana was worried about her first day at work, a new place, meeting new people, it all scared the timid girl in her. Sanjana had always been a shy girl, opening very rarely to people she trusted. This was a big day in her life and putting her fears away she decided to give it her best shot.
She reached office and some of her initial anxiety waned off as she met the courteous staff. The regular new hire procedure took a couple of hours to complete after which she was taken to meet her new team. A few shy hellos later she was seated in a cubicle which was a makeshift arrangement until her own cube would be ready with a new machine. Later she was lead by her manager to meet other people in her team. As she walked to each cubicle, introduced herself, accepted the smiles on the team mates faces, she felt more homely. This was going to be just fine. And then something happened. The last team mate introduction was just a simple hello yet something was different, it was as if she went into a trance for a few seconds. Sanjana had no idea what had struck her. All she remembered were the eyes that had smiled back into hers.
Time went by, Sanjana was occupied in her work and her strive to do the best. Those eyes were no where to be seen and all she remembered and focused on was her work. The quiet person that she was she stuck to her cube. The only time she would meet others was during meetings and her conversations were limited to what her work demanded. A few months later it was time for a small celebration at work. Everyone started preparing for the activities and being creatively inclined Sanjana agreed to pitch in. All the activities helped her bond more with the other team mates. Soon she started trusting and quickly became the life of all the preparations.
Two weeks later it was time for the celebration. It was a team affair and everybody had arrived nicely dressed up. Sanjana arrived at the venue, and once again the unknown exhilaration and nervousness struck her. Little did she know that her eyes were about to notice once again those eyes that had smiled at her many months back. Their eyes met, lips turned into shy smiles, and like a romantic movie music started playing in the backdrop. Sanjana had no idea what she was experiencing, the only thing she knew was that something nice was happening to her. That night changed her life completely. She started noticing those eyes at work. They had a name and just seeing them everyday gave her a reason to feel complete. She longed to meet those eyes everyday and something inside her told her that those eyes longed to see her too.
Then one fine day when Sanjana walked into her cube she saw this tiny little box sitting next to her computer with a huge bouquet of roses. It wasn't her birthday so she wasn't expecting anything. Trying to control the nervous throbbing in her heart she carefully read the card on the bouquet. It just said
And in the little box were two bands with a note that said -
Tears trickled down her cheeks. This was it, this was what had kept her smiling all those days, this was why she felt happy to see those eyes. She finally understood what had happened to her. She sank down in her chair, wiped off her tears and carefully read the card again, "To My Sweetest Sanju", "Lots of Love", "Yours B."... she remembered why this was signed with a B. She had once called him by a name in one of their casual work related interactions. It all came back to her.
Slowly she held the platinum band in her hand. It was inscribed with 'Love Forever'. She placed the smaller of the bands on her finger. It fit perfectly. She cried to herself with happiness, this was all too true to be happening. Then carefully she wrote on a small piece of paper.
During lunch she quietly went and placed the box back in B's cube. From now on they were Sanju and B to each other. Life had become beautiful. No long phone calls, no dates, no lunch outs, just a look into each others eyes was all they needed to keep them going. Sanjana and her B had found their platinum day of love.
And till date they both have their platinum bands on their hands, reminding them of the day they had found true, rare and eternal love in their lives. Platinum is a metal that does not tarnish with time, and like first true love it stays precious always. Do you have a story where you found your day of true love? Do share it in the comments. You are my vision
Dreams so real
You're in my heart
In my every heartbeat.
Like the sun and earth, we both meet
But the horizon is unseen.
Like two birds we fly
To distant lands, into the sky.
The journey is beautiful
The songs so sweet
I am longing to tell you
But silence won't retreat.
Someday, somewhere, the ice will break
Our eyes will speak, what our lips don't dare.
A word from you will do the wonder
The magic will cast a spell which I long for.
I promise to be strong
I promise to be true
Just say it once, say that you love me too.
