Gwyneth Paltrow seems to have resonated with so many women across the globe with that quote of her's. Red is a color of love, a color of power, and there is always a red for you, you just need to find the one that works for your skin tone. 

L'Oreal Paris just made your job easier - it has recently launched an entire collection of only reds. Something for the bold and something for the faint hearted, but there is definitely one that you will love to flaunt from the limited edition L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Star -Pure Reds - range.

Collection Star Pure Reds Lipstick - Packaging

The collection star Pure Reds range is packed in a sleek black with a gold lettering. Each lipstick carries the signature of the L'Oreal brand ambassador that the shade is curated for. And there is a squarish button on the front which shows you the shade inside. L'Oreal has been using this shade button in most of its collections as this is something which a lot of people appreciate. Makes life so much simpler when you need to find the right shade from an entire stack of lipsticks.

Collection Star Pure Reds Lipstick - Texture and Staying Power

The texture of Pure Reds range is soft and velvety. The lipsticks are opaque in a single swipe.

The lipstick is easy to apply and goes matte after a few minutes. The L'Oreal website mentions that this rich matte effect is due to the new Light Illum complex. I would still recommend applying any matte lipstick to well moisturized lips. With the Collection Star Pure Reds  you will feel a bit of drying effect after about 3 hours if your lips are on the drier side. The staying power of these lipsticks is pretty awesome. Even on my lips it stays on for over 4 hours with a meal in between.

If normal lipsticks give you a wear time of around 2 hours then I am sure the Pure Reds lipsticks will give you a good 6 hours of wear-time.

All Collection Star Pure Reds Lipstick Swatches

Now coming to the gorgeous shades. As I said each shade is represented by a brand ambassador of L'Oreal Paris. Let's take a look at these 7 shades.

1. L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Pure Fire by Li Bing Bing

This is an orange toned red. The swatch button and the swatch on my hand looks more orange. On my lips it appears a bit darker but looks very pretty (it must be due to the pigmentation on my lips)

2. L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Pure Vermeil by Fan Bing Bing

This I would say is a pinkish red with hints of orange. Is more orange than pink. Opt for this shade if you are a bit afraid of an out-and-out red shade.

3. L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Pure Amaranthe by Gong Li

This is a fun red pink color. It instantly lifts a wheatish skin tone. You can see me wearing this shade in the FOTD later in the post. I would call this a fun flirty shade of red. The kind that makes you smile instantly.

4. L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Pure Scarleto by Blake Lively

Another one of my favorites, this is a strong red with a slight hint of pink. Wear this if you don't mind all the attention this one is sure to get you. It is a head turner for sure. A great shade for warm skin tones.

5. L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Pure Rouge by Freida Pinto

Pure Rouge is like a classic red shade, a great bridal lipstick and one that reminds me of Flaming Kiss though its not an exact dupe. 

6. L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Pure Brick by Aishwarya Rai

As the name suggests this is a brick red, a deeper version of Pure Fire with more red and a bit of brown as its undertone. Out of all the 7 Pure Reds, Pure Brick is the softest red of the lot.

7. L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Pure Garnet by Sonam Kapoor

Pure Garnet is a deep wine red color. If you have seen the advertisements of the Collection Star Pure Reds range the color Sonam is wearing in the advertisement is definitely not this shade. This shade is a deep mehroon with a slight pink undertone. This shade is very Indian a great shade to pick for winters.

And now coming to some lip swatches, I tried to do 3 different looks with my 3 favorite shades from the collection.

The first lipstick that I am wearing is Pure Scarleto by Blake, I wore it with a bright red sweater and my favorite 'travel the world' soft pink scarf. I kept my eyes a soft brown and as you can see, the lipstick grabs all the attention!

The next one is Pure Amaranthe by Gong Li. I just loved the flirtiness in this shade and decided to go out with a more sporty feminine look for this one. I wore a soft pink hooded sweater, pulled up my hair in a pony tail, and donned my reflective sunglasses - ready for a jog in the awesome weather?

And for the last look I chose Pure Garnet by Sonam Kapoor. You have already seen a glimpse of this look on instagram as well as my post HERE.

For this look I wore an Indian outfit in dark green and black. For the eyes I did a soft smokey green eyes look and Pure Garnet takes care of the rest.

I am sure you do like at least one of the red shades from the Collection Star Pure Reds range. I have picked my 3 favorites but I love all the shades in the range. 

L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Range has turned out to be a stunning collection with great staying power. The texture is amazing and it has pigmentation that makes you go wow!
