Nature’s Co Grapefruit Sugar Body Scrub - Review

I love using fragrant body washes and scrubs. Sugar scrubs are a  personal favorite as they give a nice scrub removing dead skin cells to reveal fresh radiant skin. When I got a chance to try out the  Grapefruit sugar body scrub by Nature’s co. I was excited.

First I really liked their packaging. The Nature’s Co Foressence Grape Fruit Sugar Body Scrub comes in a large bottomed tub with a big mouth – this is important as you can take out a good amount without hurting your fingers in the process. And the tub makes sure that when you reach the bottom you can still take out the left out product instead of wasting it. You do have to be careful about hygiene because of the tub but if you don’t share the bathroom with careless people it should be just fine! There is a plastic tray lid provided that you can place on the mouth of the tub to prevent any spills if you are carrying this around on a trip.

Details about the product and usage is given clearly on the back label. And there is a small booklet styled label attached to the tub that says ‘know your ingredients’

The company claims the following about this scrub:
“For Oily Skin A trip to the tropics is closer than you think. This scrub has Brown Sugar which is a natural exfoliant and Grapefruit oils that tone skin and restore damaged and stressed tissues. As it removes excess water from the body, it helps treat cellulite. Moisturizing, smoothening and gently exfoliating dull surface cells to reveal clean, fresh and healthy looking skin. In the shower or bath, spread the scrub over your entire body. Rub into skin to exfoliate and then rinse well. It will leave you feeling smooth all over and the citrus fragrance of Grapefruit will linger on. Recommended usage - 1 to 2 times a week.”

The scrub is cream in color with tiny sugar particles in it. The particles are really tiny almost the size of salt granules. When you rub this on your skin you will notice that a lot of oil has gone into the product. It not only contains grapefruit oil but also almond, sunflower, and lemon oil. This makes the process of scrubbing easy and comfortable yet removes all dirt and grime from the skin.

My first reaction was that this might leave my skin very oily after washing but after washing it off my skin became smooth and squeaky clean – yes there was no sign of any oil at all. As claimed it is well suited for oily skin like mine. I scrubbed well on my ankles, heels, knees and elbows and there was no sign of dryness the whole day. I skipped moisturizer completely and still my skin felt good even in the evening.

As far as the cellulite reduction claim is concerned I think this might actually work. I will have to try this product for atleast a few months before I can comment on that but the results that I see after a few uses seem promising. Every scrub leaves a radiance on the skin which is noticeable.
The price of this scrub is on the higher end but I think sugar scrubs are usually more expensive than regular scrubs (even on my trips abroad I have found sugar scrubs to be more expensive) But then the results are better too.

Details at a glance:
Packaging: Big plastic tub with a screw cap
Fragrance: Grapefruit and lemony
Price: Rs 1295 (200 ml)

What I like:
  • Effective scrub
  • Good moisturization
  • No oily remnants
What I don’t like:
  • Price – I understand this product has essential oils and is very effective but for people buying products out of their pocket money this is on the expensive side.
