I saw a few of my friends doing their Bollywood inspired look and really wanted to do a look of my own. L'Oreal is having this sort of contest thing where they have asked people to do a look of their own and share it with them. Now unlike other bloggers I did not get any hamper from L'Oreal to try this out but I did this just for fun. A lot of you had asked for more makeup looks from me in the comments of the first anniversary giveaway. So, serving two purposes here is my first attempt to try a 'look'.
Please be nice and don't make fun of me if you don't like it, pretty please!!!!
Okay now I am nowhere as pretty as Sonam but then this is not about looking like her but trying to adorn the same look.
This particular picture below reminds me of the early 1900's when colored films had just started in Bollywood!
Sonam also donned the dark lips winged liner look on the red carpet at Cannes 2013. I think she looked fabulous and carried this off very well. I tried this hair style but looked silly so no pictures of that :)
The base of my makeup was done using a kryolan foundation and some concealer from Faces Canada (reviewed HERE and HERE respectively). For contouring I relied on a darker shade of foundation (my YSL foundation reviewed HERE).
On the cheeks I have applied a blush from L'Oreal (not the sunset collection) and the eyes are winged using the L'oreal liner in midnight black topped with my liquid liner from DOL that I reviewed HERE. On my lips I have the L'oreal color riche lipstick in Rasberries reviewed HERE
And here is a collage which I've tried to capture with lights that give a retro sort of effect.
I hope you liked my attempt. I'm not sure I've taken the pictures from the right angle in terms of photography but this was all I could manage on my own.
The sad/funny part was I spent so much time doing this and all it took was 2 minutes of a good face wash to remove it all off - had to do this so as not to scare my husband with my all made up look :)
Please do let me know what you think of this post and my look - keeping my fingers crossed hoping you all like it!

The basic concept was inspired by Sonam Kapoor's dark lips and winged liner look that she has sported in some of the L'Oreal campaigns.

I experimented with three different hair styles, the puffed up sides with tied hair, the open hair, and the messy up-do.
