In my March Vellvette box I got a small pot of OFRA acne treatment mask. I have used this for over 2 weeks now and am ready to spill the beans.
My sample came in a tiny pot with a black lid. Original packaging is also a tub packaging.
The mask is white in color and has a very strong fragrance of clove oil. Clove oil is known to heal acne. Texture of the mask is like clay based masks.
Apply a thin layer directly on pimples and erupted area in the evening before bedtime and leave on through the night. Wash off in the morning. In case of acne apply once a week all over as a mask and wash after 10 minutes, avoiding the eye area. "
The OFRA Acne treatment mask is very similar to the Proactive Solution Refining Mask - which is also a sulphur based mask. I had used the Proactive Refining Mask almost 5 years ago and had really liked it. I had also had great results using the OFRA B5 serum (you can read about it HERE) and hence my hopes grew with this product.
The mask spreads easily and dries out fast. The smell of clove oil can be over powering but after a little while you get used to it.
I used this mainly on two prominent pimples on my cheeks. The pimples did die down but not overnight. It took almost a week for them to clear off. I tried using this mask on my whole face. The result is that it makes my skin feel very very smooth, baby soft, it feels clear as well. But I am a bit disappointed because it does not do the magic it claims.
As a general pack for oily skin it is absolutely great
But do not expect over night miracles with this one. Instead use it as a weekly pack to help control oil and breakouts, and to give you smooth supple looking skin.
At $39 for 60ml (almost Rs 2100) the Ofra Acne Treatment Mask is very expensive. I would instead purchase the Proactive Solution mask which I remember worked equally well and comes at about $25 for 75ml. It is currently available for only $4.50 at amazon.com
