Dream Because Dreams Do Come True - My Dream Destination!

Life is made up of our experiences and according to me the best way to collect experiences that you can remember all your life are those that you make while you travel. For me travel means discovering new cultures, exploring new cuisines and soaking in the best of sites across the world. And a beauty blogger can never be behind when it comes to soaking in the beauty of the world!

I have been lucky to travel to some fantastic places but the traveler in me knows that there are "miles to go before I sleep"!

I came across this blogger contest run by Air Asia as part of their “World’s Best Online Travel Fair". As part of this contest we need to say which one outof Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur is our dream destination. I have already been to Bangkok. So on my list of dream destinations is Kuala Lumpur. And before I tell you why I wish to visit Kuala Lumpur - I have to tell you that I was blown away when I visited the AirAsia site and found out that people flying to KL from Chennai, Kochi and a few other cities in India have to shell out only Rs 4500 for their air-ticket - I was stunned. If you are planning to head over to KL for vacations - book yourself a ticket now!!! You can check out the details of the travel on the AirAsia website. This is a promotional price as part of the Online Travel Fair. Since I stay in Delhi the ticket price is not valid for me but I truly am amazed! I'm flying Air Asia when I book my KL travel for sure!

Alright, now coming back to why Kuala Lumpur. Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia. Its a city which offers a taste of the history of Malaysia and yet boasts of the most modern facilities that the world has to offer. When I travel I love to breathe in the fresh air that a new place has to offer. And Kuala Lumpur is South East Asia's greenest city - so this is a clear thumbs up from my side and a huge reason why I have to visit this place.

On my wish list are the following 'Things To Do' in Kuala Lumpur.
Old Town - Kuala Lampur
Old Town - Kuala Lumpur
I want to begin with a journey through the traditional core of Kuala Lumpur which is the Old Town. The Old Town or Old City Center also boasts of the famous China Town. A visit to any country without visiting the China Town there is incomplete for me. And even though they may all seem the same, the little trinkets that you can get at these places always brings a smile to my face and I just love to soak that in (its the cooking of all sorts of non-vegetarian food that puts me off but never so much to drive me away!) And if this below picture is not driving you to KL then what will. I have to go see these architectural marvels and capture them in my own camera!

The tourist in me has to visit the ever famous Petronas Towers and I wish to be there on a Christmas eve just to see the splendor that the whole area has to offer during the celebration times. But my trip will be incomplete without visiting the older Menara KL Tower where the viewing deck is actually a 100 meters higher than the Petronas' Skybridge.

Next up on my list is a visit to the Batu Caves. Batu Caves is a limestone hill that is said to be 400 million years old. The name comes from the Batu river that flows nearby these hills. The hills are said to be the oldest Hindu shrines located outside of India and are dedicated to the Lord Murugan. You need to climb a total of 276 steps to reach the main cave called the Cathedral Cave. As I write this I am reminded of Chennai Express and my favorite scene where Shahrukh takes Deepika in his arms and climbs those stairs to a temple, yeah I can relive that on these steps, maybe, just thinking! - come out of your reverie...back to the post!

And my visit would just be incomplete without a visit to Bukit Bintang - the shopping haven of the city. Of course what were you thinking! Agreed I talk about culture and history etc but hey I'm a girl and no trip can be complete without some shopping right? Bukit Bintang has a lot of shopping malls, eating joints, indoor amusement park and places to relax and get reflexology massages.

While these are some of the must visit places for me there are others on my list I cannot miss. I have to taste some of their vegetarian road side food. I have to travel in the monorail. I have to experience their banana-leaf dining. And I have to... OK now that is enough dreaming for a day! But I truly hope that I do get to visit this amazing city soon and create my own memories in another city which awaits me!

PS: I do not own any of these images. If these belong to you and you would like me to take them out please drop me an email

  1. Nice choice dear! I appreciate your travelling taste. Kuala Lumpur is really a nice tourist destination in Malaysia. I have been there just before my recent bus tour to new york city with my wife and my son Jack. Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is an awesome attraction in this city.
