All women dream about healthy, glowing, younger-looking skin. We spend money on various facial treatments that promise to make us look the way we want. But we forget the main rule – we are what we eat. It’s proven that all our body diseases are reflected on our face instantly, so does the unhealthy nutrition and bad habits. In this case any expensive facial cream won’t help until you start from inside.
There are lots of diets and advice on how one should be nourished to look healthy, but I’d like to stop at the top list of foods that contributes to our skin health:
- Water - clean water is rich in micro-elements keeps up our water balance and washes the toxins away from our body, which is reflected directly on our skin looks. We need to drink about 8 glasses of water to maintain this process.
- Blueberries - antioxidants contained in this berry protect your skin from free radicals, and thus keep your skin young.
- Dairy products – as long as they’re low-fat and not sweet, they are a huge source of needed vitamins and protein, including vitamin A that enhances the immune system and is responsible for the skin health.
- Almonds - contain monounsaturated fat and vitamin E, which help the cell membranes to stay strong and your skin looks younger.
- Tomatoes - are an indispensable part of any nutrition because they are rich in antioxidants.
- Salmon - rich in omega fatty acids. "Essential fatty acids are responsible for healthy cell membranes, which is not only what act as barriers to harmful things but also as the passageway for nutrients to cross in and out and for waste products to get in and out of the cell," says Ann Yelmokas McDermott, PhD. As cell membranes hold the water, if that barrier is strong, they can hold more moisture and as a result, your skin looks younger.
- Green tea with no sugar and milk. Green tea contains antioxidants and it is known to reduce the risk of skin cancer.
- Spinach - is extremely rich in beta-carotene, helping to repair skin cells and prevent aging as a result.
- Oranges - contain the extremely useful vitamin C. Due to this, they improve the blood circulation in the skin cells.
- Pomegranates - packed with polyphenol antioxidants, which help your skin regulate skin's blood flow and be moisturized .
- Sunflower seeds - rich in vitamin E and protect the top layers of the skin from the sun radiation.
- Red wine - rich in iron which is good for the blood composition and due to this your face color gets better.
Try using several of these points in your daily nutrition and in the result you will see the glowing, healthy-looking skin as beauty always starts from inside.
