The Body Shop White Musk Smokey Rose EDT - Review

The Body Shop White Musk Smokey Rose EDT

If you know me personally or have been following all my blog posts you would know that musk is totally not my type of fragrance. But when this little beauty landed in my hands, the first whiff of it and I was hooked!

White musk smokey rose comes in a super classy looking bottle that is an ombre deep orchid in color (pantone color of the year 2014!)

I am no expert in explaining the different notes of a fragrance but based on my little experience from a perfume making workshop (oh yes I think I never wrote about that, maybe in a future post) I know that the first whiff you get is the top note followed by the middle note. And the fragrance that lingers on through the day is the bottom note. So this is how The Body Shop explains the white musk smokey rose fragrance.

"A daring and mysterious fragrance in a light eau de toilette, featuring an intoxicating blend of cruelty-free musk with notes of black smoky rose and tobacco flower. - Seductive floral-musk scent - Contains cruelty-free musk - Light eau de toilette"

Now my take on this, first it is not a strong musk fragrance and the rose fragrance isn't too sweet either. There is a bit of citrus somewhere that gives it a lovely fresh feel. I would say there is a wonderful sense of what I may call oriental (owing to the tobacco flower?), a little sweet a little spicy. The fragrance lingers on with a gentle powdery feel - like that of soft floral notes. I hope this makes sense, I told you its kind of difficult for me to describe a fragrance.

Price: Rs 1395 for 30ml

Overall I am giving this a 10/10 for making me appreciate a bit of musk in my life without taking away the sweetness I yearn for in my fruity floral fragrances. I would also like to add that this is a cruelty free product from The Body Shop and you can read more details on it on thier website. What is your signature fragrance or do you like to keep changing?
