Oriflame The One Lip Sensation Matte Mousse Lipsticks - Review, Swatches

I got a surprise for Christmas when my pack of the recently launched Oriflame The One Lip Sensation Matte Mousse lipsticks arrived!

Look at how cute the lipsticks are.

Price: Rs 699 for 5ml [available for upto 30% off on here]

The lipsticks come in a plastic packaging with a gold cap and see through tube. The product is a matte mousse like formula. There are 7 shades that have been launched ranging from pinks to reds.

The lipstick has an applicator brush that picks up a small amount of the product when you take it out. The shape of the applicator makes it easy to line the lip and then fill it in.

Now coming to the seven gorgeous shades. They are (left to right)

Rouge Suede - a cool toned red, the one that looks perfect no matter what your skin tone
Red Velvet - a warm pink toned red that can instantly brighten up your face
Coral Dream - a bright coral shade, almost an orange toned red
Raspberry Cloud - A cool toned raspberry pink shade, bright and lively
Pink Velour - a soft pink with a slight orange undertone
Satin Rose - a cool toned rose pink shade, washes out my wheatish skin tone
Soft Mulberry - a warm toned berry shade with a very slight hint of brown

Coming to my experience with these lipsticks.

Texture - the Oriflame Matte Mousse lipsticks have a mousse like texture, very light weight and creamy. A few shades are actually cakey on the lips and tend to enhance the lip lines. They do not feel dry on the lips but still have that weird look where the product doesn't seem to smooth out evenly. The shades that were problematic were Satin Rose, Pink Velour and to some extent Coral Dream.

Finish - the finish is very matte for Satin Rose but rest of the shades have an almost matte finish. If you look at the swatches you can see there is a sheen to the lipsticks which is unlike a pure matte lipstick. This is good because the lipstick feels matte without enhancing the fine lines on the lips.

Staying Power - these lipsticks stay on my lips for about 3-4 hours but vanish with a meal. If you double layer these with a layer of loose powder then you can get away with a light meal in between.

When I took out the lipsticks from their boxes Satin Rose and Soft Mulberry seemed to be the prettiest to me but on actual application I really liked Rouge Suede, its got that classy red lipstick look. Another of my favourites is Raspberry Cloud as it really brightens up my face. Soft Mulberry is what I recently wore to a wedding as it looked good with an outfit, loved it too!

Have you tried any of the lipsticks from this range?

  1. I haven't tried these - bummer that they vanish after a meal. Soft Mulberry is my favorite! Such a great color for the holidays! :)

  2. I am loving the shade Soft Mulberry. It's a shame that some were problematic and they didn't all have the same formula.

  3. Matte Mousse confuses me because these don't look very matte. I need something with staying power though. Rouge Suede is my favorite on you.

  6. These colors are very pretty. I like the way the formula sounds, sometimes it's nice to have a lipstick that's not so matte and drying. I don't mind reapplying after a meal.

  11. I have to agree that these don't look very matte. But I do like when lip-glosses are in clear tubes so you can see how much you've used.
