Review: Deyga Natural Handcrafted Baby Care Products

Having a baby and then this pandemic, life turned upside down. Motherhood is something that filled me with gratitude and now as I watch my son grow it amazes me every single day.

Sometime back a brand called Deyga contacted me to see if I would be interested in trying out their products. I checked out their website and saw their products are pure handmade, natural and without any chemicals. I surely wanted to try them out. Ever since my pregnancy I have been very selective about what I use for myself. And now I follow the same for my boy.

I tried out two different categories from Deyga products. In this post I will first share my views about their baby care range. I tried out the Deyga baby massage oil and baby soap.

Deyga Baby Care - Baby Massage Oil and Bath Soap

Deyga Baby Massage Oil comes in a plastic bottle with a flip cap. The oil is thick yet flowy which makes it easy to apply on the skin. It is made up of Organic Sesame Oil, Jojoba Oil, Cold Pressed Almond Oil, and Calendula Oil. The blend of these natural oils leaves the skin extremely smooth. 

I did find the smell of the oil a little strange with a smoky note. It's mainly because there is no added fragrance. It's the natural smell of the oils that have been blended together.

I normally massage my baby about half an hour before giving him a bath. I take a little bit of oil in my palms, rub them together to warm up the oil and then use gentle strokes to massage him. Massaging with Deyga leaves his skin very soft and he doesn't feel any dryness after his bath.

The Deyga Baby Soap comes in a lovely handmade pouch and is wrapped in a paper. Inside the soap is a white bar which is extremely soft to hold. The shape of handmade soap is not like a regular soap so you will find some irregularities in it's shape. There is no prominent fragrance in this and that is a plus point. I hate artificial fragrances in baby products.

The ingredients of this soap are extra Virgin Olive oil, unrefined Shea Butter, sweet Almond oil, cold pressed Coconut oil, and cold pressed Castor Oil. All these ingredients make this soap smooth and gentle on the baby's skin. Almond oil is extremely beneficial in nourishing the skin. It doesn't lather like artificial soaps but cleans well.

If you like to use natural ingredient products only for your child then you must try these out. You can continue to use these cruelty free products even when your child grows up.

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Shampoo and Conditioner Review, Price, Swatch

Hi everyone, here is the first product review for 2015. Today I am sharing a shampoo and conditioner that was actually launched sometime late last year by Garnier.

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition shampoo and conditioner - this duo comes in a bright yellow packaging. The shampoo and conditioner boast of strengthening properties due to the nutrition of 3 ingredients - coconut oil, almond oil, and olive oil.

The fragrance of both the shampoo and conditioner is amazing. If you have used a Garnier hair product before you would know that Garnier hair products always have this amazing floral fruity and fresh fragrance. The shampoo lathers easily removing any oiliness from the hair and scalp. The triple nutrition conditioner is extremely smooth and coats the hair strands very well.

I have used several Garnier shampoos in the past. But this made me go WOW after the first use itself. While the shampoo helps leave my hair with less tangles, using the shampoo and conditioner together makes my hair so soft that I can't stop moving my fingers through them. 

L'Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Extraordinary Oil - Review

In the last post I spoke about my experience with the shampoo and conditioner from the L'Oreal Paris 6-Oil Nourish range (you can read it HERE). Today I'll tell you about the L'Oreal Paris 6-Oil Nourish Extraordinary Oil.

L'Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Extraordinary Oil - Review

L'Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish hair oil is termed as 'extraordinary' because it "has been scientifically created to give your hair the nourishment it truly deserves with three traditional oils and three exotic oils providing 6 specific benefits. It has no heavy feel or greasy look. Almond Oil –Makes your hair Thick Coconut Oil – Makes your hair Manageable. Argan Oil –Gives your hair Strength. Jojoba Oil –Gives you Shiny hair Olive Oil – Makes your hair Soft. Camelina Oil –Smoothens your hair."

The oil comes in a golden-orange bottle which is made of glass (a big NO-NO for oil bottles - it is so easy to let this slip out of your hands while applying oil!) But otherwise the bottle looks quite nice. The hair oil has a slight fragrance to it as well. You need only a small amount if you have an oily scalp like mine and the little mouth of the bottle makes sure you don't spill out too much.

L'Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Extraordinary Oil - Review

I am not a regular hair-oil person. In fact only recently have I started using oil once or twice a month. But I like this hair oil for one reason - I can use this as an after wash serum and it helps tame the frizz in my hair without making it look like an oil factory.

Also when I use this oil for about half an hour before washing my hair with the L'Oreal Paris 6 Oil Shampoo and Conditioner - my hair feels super duper soft and shiny.

Price: Rs 199 (100ml)

I would rate this hair oil as a 4.5/5 because it does its job very well. I am taking off a .5 because I'm not really in agreement with this 'extraordinary' claim. I would have called it extraordinary if it would have completely rid my hair of all my hair woes (hair fall, split ends, frizz - on a permanent basis!)

Important Tips On How To Protect Your Hair And Skin This Holi

Holi is round the corner but people all around have already started playing with colors. Holi is an Indian festival where people put color in the form of powder or colored water on each other. They soak in colored water, eat lots of gujiya (Indian sweet) and even throw water balloons at each other. It is one crazy day but the enthusiasm starts almost a week early.

I personally HATE playing with wet colors on Holi. The only thing I like is celebrating with dry colors and eating sweets. Holi is a mess when it comes to skin and hair. It is becomes imperative that we spend some time in the pre-holi preparation to save our skin and hair from the harmful effects of chemicals present in the colors (even if you are playing with all natural colors you don't want to be left with pink, or blue, or yellow colored skin afterwards!)

How To Protect Your Skin on Holi

1. If you have dry skin you are lucky - smother a layer of almond or olive oil all over your body not missing out on areas like the ears, back of the neck, elbows, knees, lips and even on the eye lids. Since almond oil and olive oil are also good for skin so it wont cause you any issues. Oil will help form a layer of barrier between your skin and the chemicals. It will also help you wash off the colors more easily.
2. Oily skinned beauties can try almond oil as well - almond oil does not cause breakouts unless you drench yourself in it. Another option is to use any petroleum jelly to coat your skin, but be careful around the eyes.
