FACES Ultime Pro Second Skin Pressed Powder - Review, Price, Swatches

Summers are here and so is the time to take out those pressed powders for finishing off your makeup.
Today I'm sharing the FACES Ultime Pro Second Skin Pressed Powder. I have already reviewed the Faces Ultime Pro Second Skin Foundation

FACES Ultime Pro Second Skin Pressed Powder - Review, Price, Swatches

The packaging is very nice, a black container with silver embossed letters make it look chic. The lid opens to reveal the powder puff inside while the lower half opens up to reveal the actual product as well as a mirror. This is perfect for travelling.

The powder puff is nice and soft and gives a very even application. A tip - remember to press down the puff on your face instead of swiping it all over. Pressing it down allows the powder to settle easily without wasting product and also gives a more neater finish.

Living Nature Luminous Pressed Powder - 100% Vegan - Review

Half way through the week and I have yet another current most used product up for review. Its a pressed powder from Living Nature (a New Zealand brand). The product is 100% vegan and was a winner of the 'Best Powder', Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards in 2011.

Living Nature Luminous Pressed Powder - 100% Vegan - Review

The powder comes in a gorgeous matte black aluminium compact case with the logo embossed on top. There is a sponge inside for application. And the case also houses a mirror inside. Perfect in all respects for carrying along in your bag.

The powder is made up of natural minerals created to give this powder a reflective and refractive ability. The aim is to add a soft luminous glow to your complexion. The website clearly states that the pressed powder appears a shade darker in the pan so one should order a shade darker than what you normally wear. I chose the color medium and it matches perfectly with my wheatish skin tone.

Little miss perfect - Faces Silken Finish Pressed Powder Review

Well you wonder why I call this post Little miss perfect - you see the product I am going to review today is like those vanity items which you carry all around with you to make sure you always look your best!

Faces silken finish pressed powder is a handy little thing that comes in a nice gunmetal black packaging.

What the company claims "FACES Silken Finish Pressed Powder is a light weight powder based pressed powder that evens out facial skin tone without clogging pores. It blends with the skin tone giving a radiant silken smooth finish which lasts long and minimizes skin imperfections. It is ideal for medium to heavy coverage on sensitive skin"

The applicator puff is inside the compact case and is quite thin as compared to the one that comes with E.L.F. face compact (check its review HERE ). But I found it easy to use and it picked up just enough product at a time.

E.L.F. Clarifying Pressed Powder

E.L.F. clarifying pressed powder - a very cute little compact that great for touch-ups during the day. It comes in a small pack, the size of a marie biscuit. I got a shade called light beige.

There is a small puff in the packaging which fits well inside the case.

The company claims the following about this compact:
“Create a flawless finish with the silky powder that blends evenly into skin. Treat and prevent skin imperfections with key active ingredients formulated for problematic skin. Proven skin clarifiers absorb oil on contact to create a beautiful matte finish.”

My verdict:
The powder gives good coverage with the puff. I also tried using it with an all over face brush but did not achieve the same look as with the puff. Coverage is better with the supplied puff.
I have acne scars so I applied it over my foundation. I have tried this on top of moisturizer as well but it gives me longer results when applied on foundation. I think people with clear skin can use it on top of moisturizer for an even skin tone with no shine. The staying power on my super oily skin is about 5 hours.
This did not break me out but did not do anything to improve my skin either. I have large pores and I feel this does nothing to help hide the pores.

Ingredients as listed on the back are:
Talc, Mica, Kaolin, Titanium Dioxide, Paraffinium Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Cyclomethicone, Zinc Stearate, Petrolatum, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance(Aroma), Iron Oxides (CI 77491 , CI 77492 , CI 77499), Red No.27 Lake (CI 45410), Red No.7 Lake (CI 15850), Yellow No.5 Lake (CI 19140), Blue No.1 Lake (CI 42090), Ultramarines (CI 77007)

The price is ONLY 1$ (yes only Rs 46) and for that price this is a must have item in your kitty J

What I like:
  • Price
  • Packaging – very small and easy to carry – even in your jeans pocket
  • Good coverage

What I don’t like:
  • Parabens in the ingredients
  • No help in hiding large pores
  • Non-availability in India
