Review: Acmed Clarifying Pads - Anti-Acne

Acmed Clarifying Pads are circular mesh pads soaked in medicinal liquid that help clean your face while brightening it at the same time. Long back I had used a similar product which my aunt got from the US. Ever since I've been searching for something similar but couldn't find it anywhere until I landed on the ethicare.in website.

This product contains Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid and Allantoin. All these ingredients help combat acne while ensuring that the skin is not harmed in any way.

Acmed Clarifying pads come in a plastic jar with a screw cap. The pack contains 50 pads. One pad has enough liquid to wipe off your face and neck. After using this to wipe my face in the evening my face feels fresh and very clean.

Bare Escentuals bareVitamins - Skin Rev-er Upper - review

I have lived with a skin that has given me troublesome days (years?) at a stretch. On a trip to the US my sister bought back an entire selection of cosmetics and skin products from Bare Escentuals. In that selection was a small bottle that said "I.D. bareVitamins - Skin Rev-er Upper"

I wanted to know what it was all about and found that this is what the company claims about it:

"Get a more radiant looking complexion by creating a smooth surface for bareMinerals Foundation. bareVitamins Skin Rev-er Upper was designed to rejuvenate your complexion like a daily multivitamin supplement, with the added benefits of glycolic and salicylic acids to prepare skin for flawless makeup application every time. bareVitamins is for anyone wanting a daily dose of facial fitness to keep skin looking clear and healthy. It's lightweight and perfect for all skin types.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Synthetic Dyes
- Phthalates"

It was interesting to know that here in a small bottle was something that promised to give me  a healthier complexion and smoother skin. I had nothing to lose as I was already out of hope of anything every improving my skin.

So I started using it - religiously in the morning and at night for about a month. I was still applying my regular foundation to hide the imperfections but I noticed my skin was not cakey or too oily during the day. It seemed to like the effect of bareVitamins. The bottle mentions that you can use it under your regular moisturizer but I normally skip moisturizer in summer as it tends to break me out. So I used this alone.

After one month of its usage I noticed that my pores were smaller in size (I was religiously using a Neutrogena blackhead scrub along with the bareVitamins so I cannot promise its only the bareVitamins that did the trick) What I also noticed was that I tended to break out less often. Using the bareVitamins hasn't magically transformed my skin to a super smooth finish but yes it had made it act better and react better to products I apply on top of the bareVitamins.

The bareVitamins comes in a small handy bottle with a pump cap so that you can take out just the right amount of the lotion. I usually need 3 pumps to cover my face and neck. The liquid is very light weight and disappears into your skin on application. All ingredients are also clearly mentioned on the back label.
