Summer Nail Art - Mango Nails Tutorial

The third theme for the Stnchallenge is summer fruits - and my favorite summer fruit is the MANGO!!!! I love juicy sweet mangoes and till I wait for the sweetest mangoes to arrive in the stores I decided to do a mango based nail art.

I used four nail paints for this nail art, a sponge and a dotting tool to mix the colors. Here are the materials required.

I used Leaf Green from Juice Nails, Tangerine Treat and Sweet Sunshine from Maybelline Colorshow and Tinted Red from Faces. The sponge I used is a makeup sponge. 

Below image shows how I did the sponging. I took a plastic lid and added a drop of red followed by tangerine followed by green. To make the tangerine for mango like I added a drop of sweet sunshine on top of the tangerine. Then using the dotting tool I gently blended the colors at their meeting points.

The simply dipped the sponge onto the colors and sponged it on my nails one by one. For another detailed sponging post you can check out my post here.

 For the middle finger on which I did my accent nail I first applied a generous coat of tangering and while it was wet I applied a quick coat of sweet sunrise. Since both the nail paints were wet they blended in giving a natural looking mango color. After the paints started drying I took a thick thread and embossed it on the wet paint as shown above in step 3. Gently pressing the thread on top of the wet paint I created the grid pattern. 

Once done you need to clean the area around the nails with nail polish remover using a q-tip.
