Honey and Yoghurt Home Made Hair Pack - Soft Silky Hair

Last visit to the salon was quite surprising - instead of selling me their products the owner actually shared a
nice little home made hair pack with me. She insisted that instead of using all these products available over the counter I should use the hair pack and see a difference for my self.

I was surprised - usually salon owners would sell either thier products or expensive treatments to you.
Anyhow this is what she told me - a hair pack made of yoghurt and honey - thats it - so simple and yet she promised it would be good for my hair.

So here is how I made the Honey and Yoghurt Home Made Hair Pack. I took about two teaspoons full of yoghurt (homemade) and added one heaped teaspoon of honey. I mixed this till it formed an even paste. Then I started applying this to the roots of my hair. Starting from one side of the head I combed out a one inch section, applied the pack mainly to the roots, then moved on to the next section and so on until my whole head was covered. I still had some pack left so I applied it on top of the hair to create a mask on the entire head. I tied my hair from the back and left it like this for 2 hours. This is how my hair looked afterwards (it was a little tricky to capture the picture controlling the camera with one hand above my head!)

The pack is not of a very thick consistency but due to the honey it starts to dry off very quickly - do not try to do anything with your hair while the pack is on - you might end up hurting your hair. So let it sit and relax - you can continue doing rest of your work while the pack dries off.

After two hours I rinsed my hair thoroughly with water and then washed as usual with my regular shampoo. I did not feel anything different while shampooing but when I towel dried my hair I felt a nice softness in my hair. It felt lighter and softer - almost like they show in kid shampoo adds :)

I am really happy with the results. I have tried this pack twice and both times I have felt my hair were nourished. If you happen to have too much pack mixed together don't worry - before starting with your hair - you can apply the pack on your face (if you have oily skin) - the honey and yoghurt work wonders for the face as well. Skin feels brighter and has a healthy glow to it. For the face half an hour at most is enough for the pack - though leaving it on longer is OK if you have very oily skin. Start with the face first because once you start applying to the hair the pack won't be really hygienic for the face (or you can take out a small spoonful and keep aside for the face)

  1. This pack really works. I do a variation for intense conditioning by adding olive oil to the mix.
