Aura Vedic Ritual Cleansing Ubtan Mask - review

Festivities of Diwali have begun and while we all focus on getting rid of the clutter in our homes how can we leave behind a little focus on our skin? Aura Vedic has recently launched their Ritual Cleansing range specially around Diwali time for a little at home pampering of our facial skin. I tried out their Cleansing Ubtan Mask and had to share my initial reviews with you so that if you like you can head out and purchase one for yourself.

What the company claims
“Ubtan cleansing mask prepared from a traditional formulation of natural herbs, nourishes & leaves skin smooth, radiant and glowing. Natural extracts o  Sandal, Turmeric & saffron ensure that the beauty of the skin is enhanced and nourished."

The Product
Aura Vedic Ritual Cleansing Ubtan Mask comes in a small plastic tub. The Ritual Cleansing Ubtan Mask is a fine powder, green in color, made up of very natural ingredients. It smells organic too.

My experience with the product
My initial reaction was towards the whiff of smell that came when I opened the jar. It smelled very organic
with hints of Neem and something floral as well. Almost like agarbati (incense stick) smell. It can be overpowering if you don’t like incense sticks but I enjoyed the fragrance and more so because it gave a feeling of being pure without any artificial products inside.

I took about 1 teaspoon and mixed with some rose water to create a paste. I then applied this all over my face and as per the instructions massaged it gently into the skin. There was a slight tingling sensation which did not bother me as I am used to products containing Neem. But if you have overly sensitive skin please do a patch test on the inner side of your elbow before using this – it might sting more if you have any existing skin ailment or extremely dry patches on your skin. But the stinging dies down (or you get used to it) in a short while.

After massaging the pack for about a minute I let it sit on my face like a normal face pack for about 15 minutes. Then I rinsed it off with luke warm water and patted my face dry. My face felt very soft and smooth. I had to attend a party that day and even when I returned back and removed my makeup my skin felt nice, it looked radiant after a long time. I am going to make this a regular part of my skin care routine with a weekly dose of this face pack.
