Want to know what the perfect makeup for your eye shape is? You're in luck, because we've done the research and come up with these fantastic tips, tricks, and ideas...just for you!

What IS Your Eye Shape?

Before you can find the perfect makeup for your eye shape, you need to know what that shape is, right?  If you aren't already sure, use these descriptions to figure out which is closest to your own natural eye shape.
Deep Set Eyes: Large, and set deeper into the skull, creating the illusion of a more prominent brow bone.
Mono lid: Flat on the surface with little, if any, crease at all. The brown bone is much less defined.
Hooded Eyelids: Feature an extra layer of skin that droops over the crease, causing the eyelid to appear smaller.
Protruding Eyes: Create the appearance of projected lids in the eye socket area.
Upturned Eyes: Classic almond shape, with a natural lift at the eye corner.
Down turned Eyes: Sight drooping on the outer corners. (also sometimes called Almond Eyes)
Close Set Eyes: Less than one eyeball width apart from one another.
Wide Set Eyes: More than one eyeball width apart from one another.

Now that you've figured out which eye shape you actually have, let's figure out the best thing for you to do with it!

Deep Set Eyes

Try to brighten up the natural shadowing produced by your eye shape by using a beige or warm metallic peach coloring on your lids. Highlight under your arches  using an illuminating crayon, and use waterproof mascara to avoid smudging.

What You'll Need:
Eye-shadow: Shimmer Wash Eye-shadow by Bobbi Brown in Beige
Illuminating Crayon: Mally Illuminating Crayon in Heavenly
Waterproof Mascara: NatureLuxe by Cover Girl

Mono lid

Create the illusion of dimension on your face by use a gradient of eye shadow colors on your lid. Start with the darkest color at the lash line, followed by a soft neutral  hue in the middle and a shiny, light color at the brow bone. People with a mono lid eye shape should always curl their lashes for an extra lift.

What You'll Need:
Gradient Eye Shadow: U*Star Zignature Multicolor Eye Shadow
Eyelash Curler: Blinc Heated Lash Curler

Hooded Eyelids

The best look for hooded eyelids is to draw the focus upward by diffusing a darker eyeshadow over and beyond the crease. Line the top of your eye in order to intensify and enlarge your eye shape,as well as thicken the lash base. This is important because the lash base can often disappear under the 'hood' or lid fold.

What You'll Need:
Eyeliner: L'Oreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner, Carbon Black 690
Eyeshadow (black or brown): Make Up For Ever Aqua Black Waterproof Cream Eye

Protruding Eyes

Smoky eyes work great with this eye shape, because it keeps the lid from overpowering your look. Dark tones are always great at receding space and size. You can also apply thick liner along your upper lash in order to further diminish some of the space if you so desire.

What You'll Need:
Dark eyeshadow (black, brown, or gray): Diego Dalla Palm Deep Dark Eyeshadow
Eyeliner: Too Faced 3 Way Lash Lining Tool- Black

Upturned Eyes/Almond Eyes

In order to even out the upper and lower eyelid proportions, apply dark eye shadow or eyeliner along the lower outer corner to make the natural 'lifted' effect a little less.

What You'll Need:
Dark eyeshadow: Maybelline Lasting Drama by EyeStudio Gel Eyeliner, Blackest Black 950
Eyeliner: Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner Pencil, Black 201

Down turned Eyes

This is the perfect eye shape for that sexy cat eyes look. Apply a liquid liner along the top lid, extending it out and up at a 45 degree angle.

What You'll Need:
Liquid Eyeliner: Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner by Stila (available in 7 colors)

Close Set Eyes

Use a light eyeshadow shade on the inner corner and most of the lid, a medium shade from the middle of the brow bone, sweeping outwards. Use the darkest color on the outermost corner, blending up and out towards the brown line.

What You'll Need:
Gradient Eyeshadow: Kose Fasio Chandelier Shine Eyes Eyeshadow 2010

Wide Set Eyes

Use a highlight shade on the central portion of the lid, with a medium shadow up to the brow bone from the inside corner, working outwards, and finishing in an inward slant. Use a darker shade across the edge of the upper lid and at the outer crease. Apply eyeliner on the center and inside corner of the eye.

What You'll Need:
Gradient Eyeshadow: Catrice Smokey Eyes Set Eyeshadow
Eyeliner: Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner by Stila (available in ten colors)
