Getting the perfect natural looking skin is not easy. Celebs do it perfectly because they have an experienced team of professionals taking care of their makeup. But here are the basic steps that you can do using budget products to achieve the perfect natural look.
Step 1. You need to have a perfect canvas for a natural look. So start off with a face primer. If you have blemishes chose a primer that is a color corrector like the one from NYX. This will prime your skin and also conceal the blemishes/large pores in one go.
Step 2. Use an eye primer and apply it all over the lids. This will give you a crease-less application of eye shadow and also help the eye shadow last longer. You can use the MUA eye primer or the one from Victoria's Secret.
Step 3. Apply a light foundation that matches your skin tone. Once done use a concealer lightly to hide any blemishes that are still showing through. Applying foundation first ensures that you get even looking coverage without packing on too much product on the face. Usually a foundation will be enough and you won't need the concealer. Rimmel is now available in India so you can try that out or you can also try out the mouse foundation from Maybelline. For concealers check out the ones from Sephoro, Revlon or ColorBar.
Step 4. Apply a lip primer and follow it up with a soft lipstick - remember the lips are supposed to be light in this look so stick to softer colors like soft pink and browns - I prefer using colored lip glosses or the Revlon Lip Balm Stains - Honey is the perfect shade for all skin tones. And if you can't get hold of a lip primer then use a lip pencil that is a shade lighter than your natural lip color so that it can hide the pigmentation of your lips - the main purpose here is to hide lip pigmentation so if you have no pigmentation issues you can skip and move directly to the lip color. For lip primers you can check out Victoria's secrets or the ELF lip primers.
Step 5. Add some warmth and natural glow by apply a soft pink blush to your cheeks. You can use L'oreal or Maybelline blushes that suit your pocket (and a little trick - if you don't have a blush gently rub a lipstick on your first finger and then dab that on your cheeks for a flush of color!)
Step 6. Add some color to the eyes - the whole face is natural so use a soft pink, coral or brown eye shadow.
Step 7. Finally add some depth to the eyes by lining them with a deep brown or black liner and lots of mascara on the lashes.
So the face looks soft, fresh and yet bright. Products mentioned in the post are simply my suggestions - you can replace with products that you already own or that suit your skin type.
