I was really not sure of doing this post and am still not sure if I should be... I was supposed to create a look for the red-carpet Cannes film festival - I had this really pretty look in mind, a flowy gown, a fantastic up-do and almost neutral eyes with bold lips. First off I don't have any gown in my wardrobe - now I don't get to attend these fancy red carpet events so never ever had the need to buy one. So I initially thought a saree would be nice but then the only full outfit post I remember doing was in a saree so well... there I go ranting on again.

Searching through my mom's vanity I chanced upon this beauty from Maybelline. This lipstick is from the Maybelline Moisture Extreme range and the shade is 811 - a gorgeous brown pink (flesh tone?) called Dusty Rose.

The lipstick is almost finished as you can see. And hey it looks so much similar to my nail paint - that is Sally Hansen Calming Cocoa on my nails reviewed HERE. Coming back to the lipstick, it is extremely smooth and moisturizing, stays on without food for a good 3 hours, but does not leave behind any stains when it wears off. 

The Dusty Rose is a color that will suit all skin tones, on fairer skins this will appear more darker while for wheatish or dark skinned girls this can be your MLBB shade. There is no shimmer or glitter and the shade just makes the lips look extremely moisturized.

Maybelline Moisture Extreme lipsticks are discontinued in a lot of places but you can still buy them from amazon.com for $4 or in India from medplusbeauty.com for around Rs 200. At this price these are a must have in every kitty!

Today I am reviewing the Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara - one mascara that I've been using for the longest time ever.

Maybelline Colossal Mascara comes in two variants - the one with blue colored font on its packing is waterproof while the one with the purple text (the one I have) is not waterproof.

This is one mascara that I use for the regular day time usage - one coat and I get a dash of volume added instantly to my eyes.

As the year draws to a an end I wanted to collate a list of all the favourite budget makeup products that we loved in 2012.

Makeup is not helpful without a healthy base so we've already seen what my favourite products  in skin care were for 2012 (check yesterday's post for details)
