DIY - Face Pack For Tackling Large Pores And Acne

Here is a quick and easy face pack to make - it works for reducing large pores as well as combat acne. And the secret ingredient is Fenugreek - found in abundance in all Indian homes - known as Methi Seeds. Fenugreek is said to be  anti-inflammatory and hence helps heal the skin.

Fenugreek is available in seed and powder form. For this DIY you need the Fenugreek seeds.

Take the following items and follow the simple steps:

1. 1 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds
2. A small bowl
3. A teaspoon of chick-pea flour (besan)
4. A strainer

Soak the fenugreek seeds in a small bowl adding only 2 teaspoons of water. Make sure you allow the seeds to soak for a good 16 hours.

Once the seeds are soaked properly they will look like the below image. The water will become slimy in consistency but there is no bad odor so don't worry.

Now strain the seeds preserving all the water that the seeds were soaked in. (Alternately you can make a paste of the seeds with the water but because we make a fresh batch of this pack every time, grinding such a small amount is difficult)

Take the chick-pea flour and add it to the Fenugreek water and mix well to create a paste.

Apply this paste liberally all over the face and let it sit for anywhere between 20 to 40 minutes. Mine usually takes 30 minutes to dry. Once its dry it looks shiny and you won't be able to twitch a muscle on your face. This helps make the skin taught and make sure you not talk with the pack on - you don't want early wrinkles to form at any cost!

You see I still have some acne on my forehead, which I'm waiting to clear out with regular use of this pack.

Alright, now once the pack is dry wash it off with cool water and you are done! Your skin will feel smooth but don't expect to see all your pores and acne gone the first day of usage. You will have to use this on alternate days for about two weeks before you notice a change.

Hope you like this little DIY. Do share your thoughts on the same!

  4. I always prefer natural treatments. Because they do not have any side effect over the body. I also tried your home treatment and it worked on my face. My very old acne and large pores on face are reduced to very extent. I happy with the results of your recipe. I want your review about these more treatments of large pores. Which are shared in this link http://www.searchhomeremedy.com/home-remedies-for-large-pores/
Is it they are working home remedies for every type of skin. Hope you get my question.

    1. Hi Aleaconall - I went through the post you pointed out - tomato juice, eggwhites and sugar - these 3 ingredients I agree with, they would help to some extent. But rest of the ingredients mentioned are good for the skin but not essentially for pores. They haven't helped me at least in the large pore department. I hope that helps!
