Hi friends, I wasn't able to attend the Lakmé Fashion Week Delhi Auditions but here I've got the update for you from Lakmé team.
Lakmé Fashion Week continues to celebrate its 15th year of prominence. For the first time, the female model auditions were held in Delhi, on the 24th of July at Lakmé Absolute Salon, South Extension- I.
An eminent panel of judges chose 4 winners after three grueling and competitive rounds of auditions for the upcoming Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015. The auditions saw 90 aspiring models at India’s most sought after model hunt.
Having introduced some of the most successful and thriving names in the industry like Katrina Kaif, Yana Gupta, Mugdha Godse and Miss India World, Kanishta Dhankar, amongst others, India’s esteemed launch pad - the LFW Model Auditions were held in the capital. The initiative is a fundamental part of LFW’s commitment to constantly provide a footing for emerging runaway talent.
Saket Dhankar, Vice President and Head- Fashion, IMG Reliance, said, “Lakmé fashion week brings the nation's most coveted model auditions to Delhi for the first time. Addressing the need, we have reached out to provide a platform to aspiring runway talent in the capital. I am pleased to inform, the auditions have been well received, we have discovered 4 promising faces that will be seen on the ramps this season.”
Here’s what Purnima Lamba, Head of Innovation, Lakmé had to say: “Lakmé Fashion Week has always been a platform that discovers and nurtures budding talent. Some of the biggest super models of India started their careers with this premier platform and have now taken to global runways. As our 15 year celebrations continue, we’re happy to expand this platform for the first time to Delhi with the model auditions. We look forward to inspire new models and help them transform into the next super models of India.”
The jury panel comprised of mix of fashion experts and exponents of the Indian fashion industry, such as top model Nayanika Chatterjee, fashion designer Rohit Bal, Purnima Lamba- Head of Innovations, Lakmé and Saket Dhankar, Vice President and Head- Fashion, IMG Reliance.
