Selfies have become an ailment - so claim a few researchers (I read this someplace I can't remember). Despite what the research says, there will always be a time in our lives when we would say, 'But first, let me take a selfie!'

1. Emote - yes this is the first and most important thing in making your selfie attractive. If you are happy let it show through your smile, through the sparkle in your eye; if you are are excited let that show too. And if you just want to pose you can resort to a pout. But please please please don't suck out your lips as if you want to plant a horribly huge kiss on the phone - be as natural as you can.
2. Have a nice backdrop - sometimes it's ok to take a very closeup selfie but to make it interesting let that backdrop show through. Standing in a gorgeous garden, posing at a memorable location, either ways capture a bit of the place in your selfie. It makes the photo interesting and will always bring back memories when you look at the pic later.
