Review: Always Personal Care Range

Hi friends, again after a short hiatus (which is becoming a regular on this blog now) I am back with a new brand in personal care products.
Called Do More Always, this brand has been launched by a group of athletes with the intent to provide clean high quality products for active people.

Their current personal care range includes a face wash, moisturizer, sunscreen, body wash, and a body lotion. All products are paraben free. Let's dive right in and see what each of these products has to offer.

Always Cleanse Foaming Face Wash

This face wash comes in a pump bottle of 60ml, just the right size for travel. The face wash itself is a foamed product which feels very very light on the skin. I used about 3 pumps to cleanse my face and neck. It washes off easily and leaves behind a super clean yet soft feeling skin. I actually did not need a moisturizer after cleaning my face. The face wash contains neem and aloe vera which make it ideal for acne prone skin too.
Price: Rs 400 (60 ml)

Always Hydrate Moisturizer

A non greasy moisturizer which boasts of Niacinamide, Vitamin B5, and Vitamin E, all ingredients that are meant to repair and hydrate the skin without making it greasy. The moisturizer has a very light weight texture and immediately gets absorbed into the skin. With regular use the actives in this moisturizer can boost skin health that gets deteriorated due to the daily grime.
Price: Rs 500 (50 ml)

Always Essential Skin Kit

Always Protect Sunscreen

The sunscreen Always Protect has SPF50 and a non-comodogenic cream with a very light texture. It gets absorbed easily and does not leave a white cast. It comes in a small pump bottle making it a good travel companion so you can re-apply as necessary.
Price: Rs 500 (50 ml)

Always Fresh Body Wash

Oh this one smells AMAZING! Yes this body wash would be loved by all coffee lovers. The whiff of coffee as you pour out this body wash engulfs you in the shower. This body wash contains aloe vera, cucumber extract, coffee extract and tea tree oil. All these ingredients are antibacterial and perfect for an after gym shower. Always Fresh body wash also targets body acne though I will have to use it longer to give a verdict on its efficacy. It comes in a flip-top bottle of 200ml.
Price: Rs 450 (200 ml)

Always Body Fit Combo

Always Nourish Body Lotion

I really like how the face moisturizer, sunscreen and even this body lotion are made with a non-greasy formula. Always Nourish Body Lotion is made with rich body butters like shea butter, mango seed butter, and cocoa butter, yet it feels light in texture. This one is also infused with coffee oil which keeps the skin supple though it does not have a strong coffee fragrance. That is good because I wouldn't want to smell of coffee all day long!
Price: Rs 450 (200 ml)

Always Body Wash and Body Lotion Swatches

Currently the brand has discounts going on all their products and even offer face care and body care kits that come in cute pouches.

You can purchase these on Amazon.in for good discounts and sometimes extra discount coupon over and above the discounted price.
My favourite product from the range is the body wash followed by the foaming face wash. Do try these out and let me know in the comments what you think about this entire range.

Proactiv Revitalizing Toner

Long back my sister gifted me a Proactiv Solutions 3-step system. The kit contained a toner, a face pack and a cleanser. Today I'm reviewing the Revitalizing Toner from this kit.

The revitalizing toner comes in a light green transparent bottle with a white screw cap. The toner itself is a clear liquid which is alcohol free. The directions of use and ingredients are listed on the pack itself.

Skin Care for Acne Prone Skin - What Helped Me Control My Acne

Its been a long struggle as far as acne is concerned. In the end of December last year I got a bad bout of acne and have had to take extra care of my skin to finally get it to a state where I can step out without heavy makeup. This post is my attempt to share with you what worked for me, hoping that if you are going through the same phase, it will help you too.

My face broke out into big cystic acne on the jaw area and started to spread downwards on the neck. This was the first time I experienced acne on my neck and it was awful.

Since I was not new to acne I knew what I had to do. Thankfully after following the routine regularly for 3 months I have been able to get it under control. I still have an occasional acne burst but its all under control now. The scars will of course take longer to heal and I am still working on that.

Alright so lets get started.

Products Needed For Acne Control

A Good Face Wash

To start off you need a good cleanser for the face. Something that will remove all dirt, oils, makeup and yet be gentle on the skin. I used the Cosmedic SaliQT Active Body Wash on my face (as I had already mentioned in my review post HERE) - this body wash was so gentle that I tried it on my face and my face liked it a lot. If Cosmedic products are not available you can get hold of either the Himalaya Neem Face Wash (I have used this for over 4 years before I started experimenting with other products and I can really vouch for it), the Vedic Line Neem & Brahmi face wash reviewed HERE or the VLCC neem face wash (review coming soon). The Himalaya face wash is the most gentler of the lot.

OFRA B5 Serum - Review

In my February Velvette box I got a little bottle of OFRA B5 Serum. Its a moisturizing serum meant for combination and oily skin. Said to have antioxidants it promises a lot.

What the company claims about OFRA B5 moisturizing Serum

"An intensive hypoallergenic, hydrating, anti-oxidant formula that will refine and smooth lines, B5 Moisturizing Serum is suitable for all skin types. The Hyaluronic acid holds 100,000 times more moisture content than its weight. This product is suitable for people who suffer from dehydrated skin. Improvement will be seen within 24 hours. Men may use this product after shaving. Apply a small amount to fingertips and massage lightly onto face and neck. Once absorbed apply a suitable moisturizer such as Advanced Vitamin C Cream SPF20 | Biotech Cream. This product may be used on its own in hot humid weather. Results maintained with continued use morning and evening and can be alternated with any other Ofra Cosmetic Laboratories Serum. "

Ingredients of OFRA B5 Serum

DEIONIZED WATER, SODIUM HYALURONATE, DL PANTHENOL, POLYSORBATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, METHYLPAREBEN, GLYCOSAMINOGLYCANS, CARBORNER, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, HYDROCTYL EXTRACT, AND CONEFLOWER EXTRACT, TRIETHANOLAMINE, LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL.

My Experience with OFRA B5 Serum (combination skin)

I have combination skin which is currently suffering with active acne. In winters my skin is extremely dry around the corners of the lips while the nose still decides to be an oil producing factory! When I got this serum I was really confused. The little pamphlet that came with it said it was meant for oily and combination skin but the company website says its good for people who suffer from dehydrated skin. I thought anything meant for dehydrated skin might cause breakouts. But I still wanted to give it a try so I started with a small area on the face. When it felt non oily I ventured out whole heartedly.

I have been using this serum for almost 4 weeks now and I thought I had tried it enough to share my experience about the OFRA B5 Serum.
