Bidding Summers Adieu - OOTD With Floral Shrug

Hi friends! I have been missing since a long time now. A lot happened over the past month and those of you who follow me on Instagram thanks for your support!

Before I ramble on about new changes here at Our External World let me first share a quick outfit-of-the-day. Summers have finally gone and while the weather is a getting a bit gloomy I decided to add some spunk to my day with a bright floral shrug.

Its a navy blue shrug in Georgette with big fuchsia flowers. The fabric drapes around perfectly. I decided to wear a fuchsia tank top underneath and teamed it up with a pair of jeans and my favorite tan shoes from Clarks. A great outfit when you are headed out on a casual trip.

In life you can be inspired by a lot of things. You can be inspired by a person to write a book, you can be inspired by some music to compose your own dance steps, and you can be inspired by the smile of a child to create a new melody. Sometimes you look at a painting and it inspires you to create your own theme for the decor in a room. At other times you might look at a piece of jewelry and your entire outfit gets created so that you can wear that piece of jewelry on a special occasion.

Today's post is all about my inspiration for an outfit. And lo and behold, I got inspired by a pair of shoes! When you take one look at this stunning pair of pumps from Clarks you will understand why! After all there is a reason why Marilyn Monroe once said "Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world!"

This is the Blissful Cloud in Coral Combi pair. The upper is a soft suede in coral while the heel is a shiny silver. The pair fits my feet like a glove and despite the 3 inch high heel it feels quite comfortable due to the cushioning inside.

As soon as I got this pair I pictured a lovely white dress, because the shoes have such a lovely color I wanted to keep all the color focus on my shoes. I will share later in the post, what I think, are stunning pictures of the shoes (I actually went a bit crazy clicking pictures, the color just popped out so well that I just went on and on!) But, let me first share with you two outfit ideas for styling with these shoes.

The week has almost come to an end, I know its still Thursday but in India the 6th of March is a holiday - its HOLI time! Before you get all soaked up in color check out today's outfit post.

Here's a dress that I wanted to share. Its a red lace maxi dress that I wore in the post I did a few days ago. Remember the red dress showing up in the pictures for an evening out hair do (check it HERE)

The dress is made of red floral lace with a black stretchable satiny fabric underneath. This gives dimension to the red color. On the waist area there are two plain red ribbon bands to cut the monotony of the lace. The fall of the fabric gives it a very dreamy romantic look. I wanted to play around a bit while doing the shoot so after my initial click I picked up these flowers and just posed :)

Hi friends, I hope the week has started on a good note for you. The weather is lovely, bright sunshine on an otherwise cold day is simply perfect.
Since winters are in full swing, at least everywhere above the equator, I thought of sharing a quick outfit post.

I recently got myself a pair of leggings from OASAP.com, these are snowflake printed leggings perfect for the season. They are called Chic Stripes with Snowflake Leggings. They are made of cotton blend fabric and are lined inside with a very soft light fur. These are extremely warm and great if you are headed outdoors in the cold.

I paired these with a short red shirt, a long brown sweater and black boots with comfortable heels.

You can go out on a lunch date with friends or simply stroll through your favorite markets easily in this comfortable outfit. And if you are headed on a trip then these leggings would be a great travel companion as well.

Fashion Post: Outift Of The Day - Welcoming Winters

Winters are here and long sleeve shirts and sweatshirts are already out of the closet. Today I'm sharing a casual outfit of the day to welcome the winters. 

I chose to wear a full sleeves t-shirt paired with slim fit trousers. I really wanted to do this shoot outdoors but the sun seems to hide behind the clouds every time I take out my camera!

I spotted this t-shirt online and loved the print detailing on the sleeves. To add a bit of spunk to the otherwise extremely casual attire I decided to wear a statement necklace with big bold beads. The colors in the beads actually go well with the pattern detailing on the sleeves of my shirt.

For the trousers, I swapped out my jeans with a pair of corduroy trousers that are slim fit. Corduroy is my favorite trouser fabric for winters as it keeps me warm and comfortable throughout the day. I chose to match my outfit with these pair of heels in a mint green color. I am still practicing wearing heels for longer periods of time - the max I have gotten so far without spraining my ankles is 2 hours.

I am wearing a casual trouser and jacket combo in white with a bright magenta colored shirt. I accessorized it with a shell butterfly necklace and swarovski danglers. Since the shirt was a bright magenta I decided to let the rest of the outfit be a complete white so that the focus stays on the shirt and yet doesn't make it appear too loud even if you were to wear this to work.
