Top Makeup Tips For Girls Who Wear Glasses

If you have been hiding behind your glasses wishing you could wear makeup - I am here to help you shine through! Firstly lets set things clear - wearing glasses does not mean your eyes won't look good with makeup. On the contrary, a bit of liner, a touch of color and your eyes will appear bigger and brighter behind those glasses.

I recently switched from wearing a rimless frame to a full rimmed frame from Elle that I got from Specs Appeal. I love this frame for its dual tone - the frame appears dark brown on the outside whereas the inner side that faces me is a lovely teal blue.

Larger frames are in vogue these days and when I switched to this frame I realised there are special things I take care of while doing my makeup. So I decided to write this post where in I plan to share some tips that you all can follow when you are wearing spectacles.

1. Conceal the under eye area

When you wear glasses, the glass slightly magnifies your eyes. This means the under-eye area gets highlighted more than it ordinarily would. So your best friend is a dab of concealer. You can try using the Maybelline dream-touch highlighting concealer or the Oriflame The One Illusion concealer.

How To Choose Your Beauty Products Wisely by Manisha Chopra

Recently Manisha Chopra, Co-founder, SeaSoul Cosmeceuticals shared some important tips on how to chose your beauty products. She has gorgeous skin her self so let's listen to what she has to say!

There’s no denying that summers can wreak havoc on your skin. The scorching heat not only leaves an uneven and unwanted tan but also ends up dehydrating that flawless glow you nurtured during the more conducive weather. The sudden spike in mercury and its deleterious effects on our skin can make many of us desperately reach out for products that make lofty promises. But this is when we have to sit back and get a grip on ourselves.
Simply rubbing expensive solutions on the face isn’t going to bring your glow back.

Important Tips On How To Protect Your Hair And Skin This Holi

Holi is round the corner but people all around have already started playing with colors. Holi is an Indian festival where people put color in the form of powder or colored water on each other. They soak in colored water, eat lots of gujiya (Indian sweet) and even throw water balloons at each other. It is one crazy day but the enthusiasm starts almost a week early.

I personally HATE playing with wet colors on Holi. The only thing I like is celebrating with dry colors and eating sweets. Holi is a mess when it comes to skin and hair. It is becomes imperative that we spend some time in the pre-holi preparation to save our skin and hair from the harmful effects of chemicals present in the colors (even if you are playing with all natural colors you don't want to be left with pink, or blue, or yellow colored skin afterwards!)

Here I am sharing with you some tips that you can use. These are things that I used to do as a child when I did play with all sorts of colors.

How To Protect Your Skin on Holi

  1. If you have dry skin you are lucky - smother a layer of almond or olive oil all over your body not missing out on areas like the ears, back of the neck, elbows, knees, lips and even on the eye lids. Since almond oil and olive oil are also good for skin so it wont cause you any issues. Oil will help form a layer of barrier between your skin and the chemicals. It will also help you wash off the colors more easily.
  2. Oily skinned beauties can try almond oil as well - almond oil does not cause breakouts unless you drench yourself in it. Another option is to use any petroleum jelly to coat your skin, but be careful around the eyes.
