Honeymoon ! The best time in ones life to travel across the oceans and bring home a lifetime worth of memories.
When I had to plan my honeymoon I knew the destination had to be beautiful and at the same time adventurous as my better half loves to venture into the unknown. After hours of research we both narrowed down on Mauritius which we believe is the ultimate honeymoon destination and as the people of Mauritius rightly call it "Little heaven on earth".
Mauritius offers you pristine beaches, gorgeous blue skies, lots of activities and heartwarming friendly people!
It would have been easy had we just chosen a simple predefined package trip to the land of beaches. But after looking at what was on offer we decided to put in some effort and plan the trip ourself.
For one we wanted private transfers all over the island. Then we did not want to do only the usual north/south island tour. We had a total of 7 days and they seemed too less once we started jotting down what all we wanted to do. Top of our list was a good spa. Right after marriage both the bride and groom need a good relaxing massage to soothe out the tired muscles.
We wanted to spend a good amount of time by the sea and yet we wanted to do a lot of land activities as well. We will share in a separate post must do things in Mauritius.
After another round of researching hotels and resorts (and my sister constantly recommending Ambre Resort at Belle Mare) we settled down on a newly refurbished property called the Long Beach Golf & Spa Resort by Sun Resorts. There are many reasons why we selected this resort and you will agree that we made the right choice when you read our next post where we will take you on a picture journey through this paradise of a resort!
