Hi friends! I left off my last post on Mauritius Long Beach Golf & Spa Resort by taking you through the different restaurants available at the resort. Today I'll take you through the different activities you can do at the resort and otherwise while you are in Mauritius.

Spending our evenings watching the sun set by the infinity pool was our favourite during our stay at Long Beach. While in Mauritius you cannot miss out on beach and water activities. First up on our list was an undersea walk activity - we were supposed to do it at a beach close to Ambre so we decided to take a quick tour of the resort first. 

Ambre has a gorgeous property too and a beach that will pull you out into the waters no matter how hard you try to do otherwise. Its a quaint little resort on its own with all the facilities you could ask for. It has its own spa as well as a lot of free water activities at the resort itself.

After a visit to Ambre we headed off to the Golf Course at Ile Aux Cerfs where the rest of our day was planned. The Golf Course is a haven in itself. A wide expanse of the golf course overlooking the beautiful blue sea, this has to be Asia's most beautiful spot specially when you are at pot 11.

With the sun shining bright and the winds blowing gently across the sea it was a day well spent.

In our first post on Honeymoon Travel Diaries we introduced you to our pre-honeymoon preparation and told you we decided to stay at the Long Beach Golf & Spa Resort in Mauritius. This post is going to be heavy on pictures because we were at a place so gorgeous that it had to be captured through our lens - for you to join us as we take you around! Mauritius has a huge list of resorts and it can become difficult to narrow down where you want to stay. Apart from budget constraints there are a lot of other factors that can determine your abode during the special days. Our main concerns were

1. Resort and not a hotel - we wanted a luxurious stay to make our honeymoon special
2. Pristine beach at the resort
3. In house dining options
4. Water activities
5. Assistance in local excursions - we did not want to do the routine trips
6. Spa for relaxation
7. In a location that is not overcrowded

When we started narrowing down on our options the one place which actually exceeded our requirements was the Long Beach Golf & Spa Resort, situated on the Coastal Road at Belle Mare. As I mentioned my sister had already stayed at Ambre, which is a property by the same resort chain of Sun Resorts. So we were confident that we had made a good choice. 

I will share a sample itinerary that you can use as a base to plan your own trip at the end of this post (or if this one is too long, I might end up splitting it into two posts!). But before we go there let's go dive into the beauty of Long Beach Golf & Spa Resort.

Long Beach Golf & Spa Resort has an expansive beach line of over 1.3 km on the eastern coast of Mauritius. It offers an array of activities to make your stay exciting yet at the same time relaxing whenever you need the quiet time. The resort offers 255 sea facing rooms each equipped with the modern facilities that you require. The rooms are done up in a soothing white, lime green and light blue colour scheme. Our room was like a little villa on its own with a huge garden up front overlooking the sea.

Each day our bed was done up in a different way but our favourite was the two swans with fresh flowers. Perfect for any honeymoon couple for sure!

Honeymoon Travel Diaries: Best Honeymoon Destination - Mauritius

Honeymoon ! The best time in ones life to travel across the oceans and bring home a lifetime worth of memories.

When I had to plan my honeymoon I knew the destination had to be beautiful and at the same time adventurous as my better half loves to venture into the unknown. After hours of research we both narrowed down on Mauritius which we believe is the ultimate honeymoon destination and as the people of Mauritius rightly call it "Little heaven on earth".

Mauritius offers you pristine beaches, gorgeous blue skies, lots of activities and heartwarming friendly people!

It would have been easy had we just chosen a simple predefined package trip to the land of beaches. But after looking at what was on offer we decided to put in some effort and plan the trip ourself.
