My Beauty Wish List - Which Ones Do You Own?

While 2013 has already crossed the mid way mark, there are some products I'm still waiting to own. From Sigma, Nars, Bobbi Brown and more, this list is just a tip of the ice berg. You know a girl can never have too much makeup can she?

The products on this list include the Revlon nail art expressionist and the mint green nail paint from Bourjois. In the eye makeup range I am waiting to get my hands on the Neutral extended wear eye liner range from Sigma.

I am also eyeing the gorgeous velvet matte lip pencil from NARS. I think its a lovely shade for the coming fall months. And to match it up is the NARS cosmetics eye shadow palette specially for fall 2013. Aren't those colors simply rich looking?

Bobbi Brown has made its debut in Select City Walk mall in Saket but I haven't had the chance to go over there yet. Their lipsticks look stunning!

A couple of other items that I wish to own are the Clinique chubby stick for the lips, a color correcting primer from NYX, a lovely blush from Dior and the uniquely shaped Smart Liner from Sephora.

Soft Pink Smokey Eyes Simple Tutorial and First FOTD

I finally after almost a year of blogging decided to share a full face - so this is my first ever FOTD, hope you all like it.

Pink Soft Smokey Eyes FOTD with Lotus Herbals MoistPetal Lipstick in Raspberry Punch

The challenge was to use minimum makeup so I did this using only 4 products that I will reveal as I present the steps.

I chose a soft pink smokey eye look - the face is bare without makeup (freshly washed) and on my lips I am wearing Raspberry Punch from Lotus Herbals Moistpetals range which I will be reviewing soon. (Yeah made use of the buy 1 get 1 free offer on HERE)

Now for the soft pink smokey eyes or do I say pink soft smokey eyes? Here are the steps in a picture (followed by text below)

Step 1: Start with clean eyes (if they are dry moisturize them with a non greasy eye cream - or use aloe vera - mine are bare)

Step 2: Use any pink eye shadow, I chose a coral pink which is actually a blush - the Bourjois Little Pot Blush in Rose Eclat (reviewed HERE) and cover the entire lid - add more colour on the lid and just one gentle swipe on the brow bone. If your pink is darker then skip the brow bone area. You can do this step using your finger, the brush present in the blush or use an eye shadow brush. I did mine using an eye shadow brush from E.L.F.

Step 3. Using a black eye liner (or kajal pencil) draw a thick line on on outer corner of the upper eye lid tapering it off as you go near the inner corner of the eye. I have used Maybelline Colossal Kajal (reviewed HERE)

Step 4. Using the same liner tightline your eyes (as shown in the image)

Step 5. Using the eye shadow brush smudge the black line starting from the outer corner moving towards the inner corner. When you smudging the outer corner smudge into the crease (only on the outer corner)

Step 6. Repeat step 3 but draw a thinner line than before and take it all the way towards the inner corner of the eye.

My Entry For Beauty Diaries Electrifying Eyes Contest

During my last post in a review of the Bourjois Khol & Contour eye liner pencil I had mentioned that I had entered in a give away for which I had to do an eye make-up.
The contest entry is finally published so I can now share with you the photos with the eye make-up details.

This is a contest hosted by Beauty Diaries and is sponsored by L'oreal where we are required to submit eye make-up and the theme is "Electrifying Eyes"
As you all know I have not dabbled in eye make-up (barring one post Simple Eye Makeup) so I was a bit sceptical on entering the give-away but then I thought I should at least enter - if nothing else I would get some practice on eye make-up :)

So here are a few pics from the contest entry

Now for a breakdown of what I did
The look has been done in the same manner as explained in the Simple Eye Makeup Tutorial. I began by covering the entire lid using ELF Shadow & Liner pencil in BASIC - this was applied right to brow bone area.
Then I took the ELF Shadow & Liner pencil in SMOKE and covered the lid area only.
Now was my favourite part. I took the Bourjois Khol & Contour pencil (shown in the review HERE) and applied this in a very thick line along the lash line. I followed this by gently smudging the colour all over the lid. This gave the 'electric' blue colour as you see in the pics.
After smudging it I reapplied along lash line but this time I applied a thinner line and did not smudge it.
I also lined my water line with the same pencil liner and was done!
I am not sure whether I will win the contest or not but I had fun doing this and I really liked the electric look it gave to my eyes.

Bourjois Eye Shadow, Liner and Blush

Sometime back I won the Glitter and Gorgeous give away. Rekha sent me the prize wrapped in cute potli's along with a congratulations note.

The Bourjois Blush is in shade Rose Eclat. I love the small applicator brush that comes with it because of its unique shape. And it snugly fits inside the blush too.

The blush packaging also has a small mirror inside which makes it super duper easy to carry this around and apply it. If you notice the packaging is same as the colour of the product inside - another thing that I really like because it makes it easier to identify the colour.

The shade Rose Eclat is a warm pink colour. This gives a nice pink glow to the cheeks. The applicator brush is very useful as it picks up a very small amount of the product at a go. This makes sure that you don't apply too much at one shot and allows you to build the intensity of the colour as you like.

Next in line is the Bourjois intense Extrait 08 - a drool worthy eye shadow.

The packaging is very similar to the blush. It comes in a brown plastic case with a small mirror inside. Again packaging is of the same colour as the product. This does not have an applicator brush though. The shade is a deep brown colour (the swatch came out lighter)

And finally the Khol and Contour liner - it is a pencil liner that can be sharpened. The colour is a teal shade and the texture is super creamy. I just love applying this on my lids. Infact I loved the texture and shade so much that I did a complete eye with this colour (used it as a shadow on the entire lid) I don't have pictures of that yet since I have submitted that for a contest entry and am not allowed to share the pics elsewhere.
