I had got myself a couple of products to try from the brand and finally its the turn of this pretty blush to be shared here. The blush comes in a very interesting box packaging with a rubber grip to keep it shut. Owing to the box it is extremely light weight and also houses the applicator brush inside. There is no mirror inside but I still love the very chic packaging.

The blush is 100% vegan and is a mineral blush. It has a soft and smooth texture.

The shade I have is called Warm Summer. I love how Living Nature has given unique names to all Warm summer is a pink toned rosy blush. There is no shimmer in it. On my wheatish skin tone it imparts just a hint of color giving it a radiant look. On lighter skin tones it will show up more. When I want to add deeper color  I just swipe it a couple of times more.

The blush comes in a 4gm packing.

The base polish I used for this nail art is Envy Polish - Laminate (005). Laminate is a fawn colored polish with a very slight green base. It was the perfect base I was looking for to match the cover of the Pride and Prejudice book.

Last year around this time I had done a nail art inspired by mangoes - my favorite summer fruit. This summers I wanted to try out oranges - inspired not really by the fruit but the El Corazon Aquarelle Tints!

Aquarelle Tints are pale polishes which have an almost jelly like effect on your nails. You can build the color with multiple coats without making it look gloopy. The polishes are great for doing nail art called Leadlight Technique (which I have used on my thumb and middle finger.

For lead light technique you stamp an image on your nail and then fill it in with colors. To do this nail art I first did 2 coats of the Aquarelle Tints shade 04 and 06 alternately on my nail. 04 is yellow while 06 is a pink color. Together they gave me the perfect juicy orange color that I wanted. 

Then I used El Corazon white stamping polish to stamp the image of oranges from a stamping plate BM 308. Then I took a few drops of Aquerelle Tint 04 and mixed it with a few drops of Aquerelle Tint 06 on a piece of paper and quickly applied the polish mix to fill in the orange. I kept applying multiple coats of the polish mix to get the 3D effect in the orange slices.

Magnetyes Kajal is enriched with Vitamin E. The twist up pencil is great because there is no need for sharpening and hence less product wastage.

The texture is amazingly smooth. It simply glides on the eyelids and waterline. When you look at the pencil stick itself you will agree that this looks the blackest of all kajals out there in the market today. I have extremely watery eyes so I needed two swipes on my waterline but on the upper lid I use this as a liner and a single swipe is enough.

It takes a few seconds to settle down so if you want you can smudge it well before it settles. This is great to create smokey eyes. For the swatches I swiped it once on the hand and then a little further away I applied a bit of lotion and applied this on top - just to test the intensity. It smeared a bit (as expected because of the lotion underneath) but the swipe still looked pretty intense.

It's raining herbal products on the blog this week. Up today is another product from Soultree - Colour Rich Lipcare - its a lipstick and I'm sharing swatches of the shade 820 Deep Blush.

The lipstick contains color pigments of organic origin. It contains sweet almond oil, wild honey and organic ghee (clarified butter).

The lipstick is buttery smooth in texture and highly pigmented. When I used it for the first time in winters it gave a crayon like feeling - or if you freeze ghee the kind of texture it has when you rub it with your fingers - that kind. But later it has become very smooth on application. It stays on the lips for a almost 4 hours but vanishes if you have a meal. It does not leave behind any stain. In winters I had to apply a lip balm after an hour or reapply the lipstick otherwise my lips would start to become dry.

The texture of the Soultree kajal is extremely soft and smooth. The color is not intense but buildable. The kajal does not irritate the eyes and can be applied on the waterline.

How To Do Gel Manicure - Madam Glam Gel Polishes, Review and Swatches

Hi everyone! Yesterday we learnt how to setup a UV nail lamp. Today I'm going to tell you the application process for a gel manicure and also show you swatches of Madam Glam Gel polishes that I have.

Gel manicure is normally a salon manicure in which a special procedure is used to apply gel polishes. The whole point of getting a gel manicure done is for the the longevity of the manicure. A gel manicure if done properly can last you over 2 weeks without any chips or fading. For some people it can last even longer. And the polish retains its fresh look during this time.

How To Do Gel Manicure With Soak-Off Gel Polish

1. Clean and dry your hands. 

2. Use a fine nail block to gently buff the surface of your nails. This makes the polish adhere better (I personally did not do this as I don't like buffing the surface of my nails)

3. Use an alcohol wipe to clean the nail surface (I use a wet wipe like Dettol and it works fine for me)

4. Apply a UV base coat - like normal base coats there are special base coats for doing gel manicure. These make sure that the gel polish sticks better to the nail and hence does not come off easily. After applying the base coat cure under the UV nail lamp for 2 minutes (please follow instructions on the base coat - every manufacturer has different instructions and time requirements)

5. Apply a very thin coat of your gel polish and again cure under the UV nail lamp for the time specified by the manufacturer.

6. Apply another thin coat of gel polish and cure under the UV nail lamp (this step is not required if the step 5 gives you the desired color output on your nail)

7. Apply a gel top coat and cure under the UV nail lamp. You might need to clean up what is called as 'tackiness' that is left off during curing. With the gel polishes I have I did not notice this issue.

Note that if you get any polish on the cuticle area or on any part of your skin remove it with acetone based cleaner before curing. After curing it becomes difficult to remove.

Now coming to the Madam Glam Gel Polishes. These polishes come in dark black bottles with color coded lids. I love the packaging. It is important for gel polish bottles to be kept in a dark place hence the dark bottles - this prevents the polish from spoiling. The color coded lids make it easy for you to search through your stack. The applicator brush is wide enough to give you an even streak free application.

Za True White Liquid Foundation is a foundation I have been using lately and will probably continue to use during summers as it boasts of an SPF25 PA++.

So first things first, lets take a quick look at the packaging. Za True White Liquid foundation comes in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser. The shape of the bottle is interesting.

I don't like glass bottles personally because then my 2 minute makeup routine stretches to 5 minutes because I need to make sure I take out the bottle carefully, dispense the product and put it back safely before I topple it over onto the floor. So I keep my Za True White Liquid foundation very carefully because this is my current go-to foundation and I don't want to break the bottle.

The dispenser is good, one pump dispenses a small amount (see the swatch image below) so there is never any wastage and no hygiene issues as well.

The texture of the foundation is a semi-thick liquid that blends easily. I do not notice any fragrance in this so people with sensitive noses should be OK to use this.

Za True White Foundation has medium coverage that is buildable. I have shade OC30 which is the closest match to my skin. It looks a tad bit lighter but settles down to match my skin in about an hour or with the help of a little dusting of my Bare Minerals warm glow loose powder. There are 6 shades available and OC30 is the darkest shade. So if you have a deeper skin tone I don't think you'll find a match. There is one more shade available for skin with pink undertones.

Hi friends, this is a quick review of a mascara that I've been using lately.

The mascara comes in a berry colored tube packaging with silver font. The wand has a  nice grip in the hand. The bristles on the mascara wand are a mix of long and short bristles which gives a very nice coating of the mascara on the eyelashes.

Here are the points where this mascara becomes a good buy:

1. The color is jet black

2. Texture is creamy

3. Does not clog the lashes

4. Wand helps to curl the lash as you apply

5. Imparts longer length to the lash

6. Is water resistant (not waterproof) - so if its not raining it will stay on the whole day :)

7. Is easy to remove

8. Coats the lashes evenly
