Unboxed: My Envy Box - Anniversary Special October 2017

October is My Envy Box's anniversary month. They came out with a black box this time - very classy - and full of quite a few interesting skin care products. And scroll to the end to find out what is the total value of this month's box (after all we need to make sure we get value for our money!)

The first product that I noticed when I opened the box was the KinGirls Macarons.

KinGirls Macarons are face masks that come in such luxurious looking circular packets. Each face mask is priced at Rs 520. Quite a high price for a sheet mask but these are said to contain special extracts to really make a difference to your skin. Haven't tried them but find them quite interesting. There are two masks in the box - Truffle and Cocoa 3D Face Mask, and Raspberry Extract Invisible Face Mask.

Oriflame Optimals Foaming Gel Face Wash has been a good companion through the months of January and February this year. It comes in a bottle of 200ml with a pump dispenser making it super easy to use in the bathroom.

The face wash is transparent and has a very mild fragrance. It lathers well and removes most makeup (for waterproof mascara I have had to use a makeup remover). 

The face wash cleanses the face well and leaves it feeling soft. It did not aggravate my acne and worked well in keeping my facial oil away. Once I stopped using this face wash I would wake up to a slightly oily face.

Ethicare & Ethinext Acne Care - How To Treat Acne For Oily-Skin

For any of you who need basic skin care for acne prone skin and do not want to splurge too much on fancy expensive brands then do read on.

I have already shared a few products from Ethicare Remedies and Ethinext pharma. The products I am sharing today form an acne care regimen that you can follow if you have oily acne-prone skin. First of all let me introduce you to the set of products to use.

First step to treat acne is to use a face wash to clean your face twice a day. Cutishine is a golden colored face wash that comes in a tube form with a flip cap. It is aimed at improving the complexion while controlling acne. It has glycolic acid, salicylic acid, liquorice extract, tea tree oil and aloe vera. The face wash is very gentle and does not leave the skin with a stretchy dry feeling. I have selected this particular face wash as part of a acne-care regimen because often acne leaves behind scars; using a face wash that improves complexion helps ensure that scaring will not happen.

Ethicare & Ethinext Acne Care - How To Treat Acne For Oily-Skin

After cleaning the face it is important to apply a cream that can help get rid of the acne. A good salicylic acid cream helps in doing that. For mornings use Sebogel which works on pimples and skin infections. Sebogel also helps to open up closed pores. Its a clear fragrance free gel so you can apply this below makeup as well. (Wait for the gel to get completely absorbed before applying any makeup)

In the evening you must wash your face again. After washing use the acmed cleansing pad to wipe the entire face. Acmed cleansing pad lotion works like a toner as well. You can read more about Acmed in my review HERE

At night before sleeping apply Adaclin. I have used clindamycin based creams for years recommended by my dermatologist and it really works well.

As an extra care for your skin you should apply a face mask at least once a week. Akmasq is a face mask that contains tea tree oil, turmeric, chandan (sandalwood) and vitamins.

Its been a long time since I've been using gel based neem face washes (I am an ardent fan of the Himalaya Neem face wash and lately I have been using the Vedic Line Neem and Brahmi disinfecting face wash which I have reviewed HERE) About a month ago I was passing by a Patanjali shop and decided to give it a look. On my way out I had purchased a shampoo and their face wash. I am going to review the face wash here which is called the Patanjali Saundarya Face Wash (saundarya means beauty).

Vedic Line Neem and Brahmi Face Wash - review

I am an ardent fan of the Himalaya Neem face wash which I stopped using when I layed my hands on the Neutrogena daily blackhead eliminating face scrub (you can read its review HERE). And then I saw the Vedic Line Neem and Brahmi disinfecting face wash. It reminded me of my Himalaya face wash and I instantly wanted to try it out.

The face wash is gel based and green in color. It comes in a plastic tube with a flip cap. Packaging is sturdy and is good if you are carrying this on a trip.
